The Queen Mothers name was also Elizabeth and due to her marriage to the King was also know as Queen Elizabeth. Queen Elizabeth the Second is her daughter and current Queen.

Well, celebrity deaths come in threes (well, they don't, but people say they do): Milton Berle, Dudley Moore, and now the Queen Mother.

My hope for the future of the royal family now that the Queen Mother has passed away:

Queen continues being queen for a few years until Prince William has consolidated himself a bit, then abdicate, ordering Prince Charles to let the throne go straight to William. Hopefully he'll prove a half-decent monarch, whereas I have no illusions about how Charles'd fare...
