[OT-rotc] I have made my decision!

Well I had my meeting and it went well.

The Lt. Col. in charge told me that I had a very good chance at getting the scholership. Only thing, I have to take a Physical Fitness test on friday at 0600.

Thanks again everyone for your good wishes.

Well,

my PT test is tomorrow, and it seems the powers that be are against me. The test involves a 2 miles run and my ankle is a little messed up at the moment (although it's not as bad as it was earlier this week).

Yes.. I tried to reschedule but I couldn't.

Well, Wish me luck, I'll need it.

The real military isn't even at the officers level! You want the real military, just join the enlisted ranks:). Officers are the ones hit by enemy sniper fire first (even when not in the field). I hated the damn butter-bars who came to save the world even when they didn't have a clue what was going on. Oh well, at least your doing the right thing by enlisting in one armed forces. If there are other youngun's, all I can say is give Uncle Sam a chance. He may snarl a lot at first, but he'll usually do a great job of taking care of you later on.

Well, it's all done and over with.

I didn't do so well. The test was for 8 am this morning. I should've had a hint that this things were going badly when I walked out of my house and it was already about 85 degrees outside. I got to the track at my school (where the test was being given). So, I didn't do so bad on the push ups/sit ups, but running 2 miles in (by then) 93-94 degree weather, on a hurt ankle, on a muddy track was a very very bad experiance.

The college thinks it's funny (I'm guessing) to water the track. I didn't realize how muddy it was until about the middle of my 1st lap (quarter mile track). About at the middle of the track I nearly slipped as my shoes sank about an inch into the mud. Unfortunately, it was my left foot (injured) that was first into the mud and I slipped a little bit. Well, now my ankle is in a lot of pain and I have about 1.8 miles to go. Needless to say, my time was about 3 minutes worse than the run I did just yesterday.

They told me they are going to let me take the test again once the fall quarter starts, and until then I was invited to join the program and start the classes. This isn't so bad seeing as I'll still ( I think ) recieve the stipent. I'll be in contact with the admissions officer soon to make sure.

Well, all in all, a very painfull experiance. Hmm.. this turned out a lot longer and a lot more whiney than I expected. Okay, I'll just stop now.
