Not to mention the impact on human beings...

And not to burst your bubble or anything, he's NOT the first 'cyborg', there have been many experiments (as early as the seventies) to use electroics to enhance/compensate human beings. Cybernetic eyes is just one example...
 

Hey, I'm just using their headline. Tihs one is more significant, however, because it deals with computers controlling the nervous system.

Wouldn't a person with an artificial heart count as a cyborg? :p

You're missing the point! These devices are still controlled by the human brain, but this guy hooked up his nervous system to a computer.
 

This guy was on Radio 4 this morning. Intresting stuff, although you must remember they only implanted the pins and things, they havent actually tested or used it yet...
 



This guy is doing some seriously good stuff, but he also sounds a little whacky. :)

But waht the hell...I would sign up for that kind of stuff. Experimental surgery for cyberwear? Sign me up!
