I'm not sure how you fit the attack on the Pentagon into this worldview.

It's a symbol of DEFENSE, not a symbol of America. The Golden Gate Bridge, Gettysburg, Anetium, the various monuments to war dead, THAT'S an armerican symbols. I know it's not a popular veiw Droth, but that's MY view. It's a stupid thing to happen, yes but not a reason to go to war.

Actually, Minas Morgul means "tower of sorcery". And it was built to be Minas Anor, "tower of the moon".

Minas Tirith is the "Tower of the Guard". It used to be named Minas Arnor, which means "Tower of the Sun".

Minas Morgul is the "Tower of Sorcery". It used to be named Minas Ithil, which means "Tower of the Moon".

The title The Two Towers appears to refer to Orthanc and Minas Morgul, both of which feature prominently in the book.

Actually, the golden gate bridge is a symbol of engineering, Gettysburg of fine horsemanship, and the statue of liberty a symbol of french green women everywhere.
