First Post
2 cars and 3 men are being detained near Naples, Fl due to a lady overhearing an unusual conversation at a Shoney's in Ga. The cars have packages of unkown materials in it and the bomb dogs have alerted the authorites that explosive material may be in the cases....the 2 alleged proposed terrorists are of middle-eastern heritage and have incorrect tags on one of the cars.

See the CNN STORY HERE

Updates appreciated----be careful out there!

Been keeping up with is, especially since I live in Miami, so I'm more than a little concerned.

Just finished taking a shower, so I probably missed some new info. So DID they find the explosives? Up to now, that was a bit up in the air, which left me worried that they had handed off the explosives off to someone else before they got caught.

No explosives found yet......robot still sniffing.

Question??????
Why would you run a toll booth if you were trying to get to Miami/Ft Lauderdale to blow something up or is this a diversion....sorry my LEO mind at work.

I can't believe they'd just sit in a restaurant and talk about it. Oh, those bumbling goofs and their comic misadventures. What kind of mischief will they get into next?

Don't mean to offend anyone by making light of it, but the threat's averted, in this case at least, and I'm kinda happy about it.

Who knows. Personally, I'm not about to underestimate the stupidity of some. Like Reid, who could've lit his shoes with a lighter, but instead kept trying to light them with matchstick after matchstick.

That thought has crossed my mind, though. Maybe while they're distracting authorities, who think they've stopped whatever attack was imminent, they handed off the explosives to others beforehand who're now more free to act. Who knows. Just hope the good guys won, here.

While the events of last September have shown us to never take any threat too lightly, the fact is, most terrorists AREN'T very bright. Tim McVeigh was caught because he was driving a car with no license plate. The first WTC bombers, back in 1993, were caught because they tried to get the deposit back on their van.

I am not saying discount the incident but it does make me think mmmmmmmmmmm

Opening My Redneck Mouth, sorry.

I got an easy solution to cut down on on foreign terrorism. Stop allowing Middle Eastern People into the US, I know there not all terrorists, and this would step on alot of toes, but if our biggest terror problem resides in the Middle East...WHY DO WE ALLOW THEM TO VISIT. Maybe if we quit lettin' em' come over here that would light some fires under the Middle Eastern governments to take care of their Holy Warring cousins.
Either that or detain every single Middle Eastern person for a few days untill their background checks out. Also, so they don't get the idea to go to Mexico and cross the border, block that off too, no one in US wants to go there anyways, it's too hot.
