'So, back in '93, you guys punked us out when Mister-Respected-And-Prominent-Figure came to X game while visiting YOUR country, was jumped and kidnapped by your hooligan fans, then dressed up like *Hitler in drag and forced to watch a subtitled Ukranian version of Leonard Part 6 on BETA format.

BWAHAHAHAHA! BETA!

Canada has a BIG inferiority complex when it comes to Americans. We try and tell ourselves we're "morally superior" now and then... but it's like being an average (in every way) younger brother to the track star/all-American quarterback/high school valedictorian.

As far as 9/11 goes - most people I know consider it to be an attack on Canada as well. (I might be biased, because I've been to New York, spent a lot of time in the towers, and had a friend living 2 blocks away.) There are some dissenters, but nobody really takes them seriously. (Just like the WTO protesters - they make a fuss, and that's okay - but we aren't going to think the way they do.)

I personally think that Canada gets a lot more out of the Canada-US relationship than we put in.

Kind of a non sequitor, but years back, before we had cable, on very clear summer days, we could pick up Canadian TV from across the lake (Erie, that is). I also listened to CKLW, a Windsor radio station - it came in really clear. Very cool.

Please don't take anything I said earlier as a criticism of Canada; my point was that sometimes things can be said or done by some folk from either country that doesn't represent the entire population of that country.

Besides, we here in the US don't reserve boorish behavior for those from other countries. Remember, I'm from Cleveland - not only did we have the bottle throwing at the Browns game this past year, but we also had the 1974 Nickel Beer Night incident at the (now gone) Municipal Stadium, when Cleveland fans doused Texas Ranger outfielders with beer and the Rangers' manager pulled the team off the field. Cleveland lost by forfeit. But, that isn't representative of Clevelanders in general (we're pretty cool, really), or even of Cleveland sports fans.

Boorish behavior at games isn't exactly a new thing or something unique to Americans. Or do people just not notice it when Europeans friggin' RIOT at soccer games! Compared to that, American sports fans are the Kings of Class.
