Well, if the Sci-Fi channel's Dune mini-series is anything to go by I look forward to this with as much enthusiasm as I do root canal.

Let's hope they don't try to do all 10 books in a 4 hour Mini-series, who would y'all like see play the characters ? Random is my favorite BTW

Agrred. That being said however, I am very envious of what you folks get on sci fi channel. I still haven't heard anything about Space Channel airing B5: Legend of the Rangers for instance. :(

Hey, I thought the Dune show was fairly well done. Not stellar, but at least the quality of the movie.

Me too. I enjoyed it plenty! Amber was the first fantasy series I discovered for myself and I really fell into it whole-heartedly as a kid. I had two very successful and long-lived (for me) campaigns of the Amber Diceless RPG in the 90s. I'll give this mini-series a shot! :)

The Dune mini series was like an empty shell. There was no mood, no personality, no atmosphere, all pronounciations were americanized (har-ki-nen rather than har-koe-nen and so forth.) Not to mention the absolutely brutally fake desert sets. I'll stick to my guns in calling it uber:):):):)e. :) But thats just my $0.02CDN.
