[OT, Valentine's Day] What are you doing for your sweety?

well at some point this weekend we're going to see Daredevil!
you know she digs you when its december and she hears Daredevil is opening on valentines day and she says we can go.
other than that the usual chocolate, home-made cupcakes and stuffed aminals (always get stuffed aminals) before x-mas i found re-released carebears, and those are always sure to score points.

I got my girlfriend a card (which miraculously enough, says EXACTLY the sentiment I had in mind), some candy, and a cute li'l stuffed puppy. :) Also, I'm taking her out to dinner somewhere nice and we're going to see Daredevil. :D

Not mentioning gaming around her for a week straight. It's gonna be tough, but I think I can stick it out. Not very easy, considering the fact that I work part-time in my FLGS. I've done pretty good. I've gone a whole two days.

I'm taking my gf to a place called Angelo's Trattoria for lunch, then buying her a charm bracelet she's wanted for ages. Thence, coz I'm taking the night off work, we'll be heading off to the cinema to watch The Gangs of New York. Hopefully this time we won't get into a fight! :D

As an experimental first, my hockey team rented out the rink on Friday night to have a game between the team and all of the wives/girlfriends. Surprisingly the girls are really into this, i.e. talking smack and buying the equipment for the game. Of course, we have to put some special rules into place, like no slap shots or checking, etc. but it should be fun(ny). Since the rental starts at 10 pm, we'll probably all get together before the "game" and have dinner or a movie.

it's interesting to see that so many women (in my perception) seem to be so hung-up on stuff like this.

I'd like to point out that the only women who are hung up on this are the women who don't see that kind of affection all year round. Because of that, they see V'Day as the one day you'd at least HAVE to be affectionate and treat them like a queen.

Btw if I had to wait for V'Day to get some good time with any of my boyfriends, they'd be my EX...oh wait, ha ha...already did that.

As for my V'Day...it involves a man, the whole day, risque games, and a satisfied...appetite afterwards.

:o :p

May I recommend a single rose and a card. NEVER forget a card. On my fifth wedding Anniversary I took my wife to California for a trip, but that was a week before the real date. On our anniversary I did not get a card. I took her out for dinner, but no card. I still have not heard the end of that. I hate Hallmark, what a waste of $3 bucks, stupid cards.

Again...women don't care about the cards if you can say what a card conveys in person. If you can't say stuff like that aloud, then yeah...better give her the card.

Remember words + action = good thing. One without the other leaves for much confusion. If you're always talking good but never dishing it up, yeah she'll be suspicious....but if you never say anything and just do stuff, she'll wonder if she's reading you right. She can't read your mind, you know ;)

Excellent point KitanaVorr... I tend to get my gf alot of little things here and there, all year round. Flowers, cards, romantic gifts, etc :).

Does explain it :).

I'm getting her a card, and I'm going to write a little poem inside it. I'm going to buy her a single red rose, and The Sims: Pets computer game. Then I'm going to take her out to dinner. And finally, after dinner I'm going to ***deleted due to inappropriate language and innuendo***

It will be out first Valentine's Day together.
