I've seen my fair share of anime and i really can't see the atraction of sub titles regaurdless of how bad the dub is. The mouth movements don't line up well, it's a friggin' cartoon not the godfather or something.
as far as quality isn't everyone forgeting Ninja Scroll?
DBZ ain't nothin' compaired to that, or the origanal vampire hunter D for that matter. How about Outlaw star that was a decent series with good VAs. Don't get me wrong i like DBZ and some of the others mentioned, lodoss war is definatly great (although I've only see it subtitled). As much as I like cartoons I just can't get that overly critical they are what they are.

Het Tsyr, maybe you can answer an anime question for me? I got Blood:The Last Vampire for christmas and was wondering if this is part of a series or translated from Manga?

It was unbelievable animation, but a little short.

BTW, I saw copies of both the DVD and VHS versions of Bloodlust on the shelves of my local game/comics/anime store. It's out!

They're breaking the street date then. Next Tuesday is the day it's allowed to be released. The video store I work at has it, but we can't rent it out until next week.

I think it was sorta based off a novel, if I remember right... I remember a page that has that information, gimmie a minute...

Yeah, sorta, here it is. Taken from animenation.com's "Ask John" section, from a few months back:

Question
Blood: The Last Vampire was great but was quite short. Are there any plans for Saya in the future?

Answer
Blood was actually part of a whole multimedia presentation in Japan which included two novels, a manga, the movie, and a Playstation 2 game. All of these different presentations tell a different part of the entire Blood story. One of the two Blood novels is set just after the movie, in 1969. The second novel, manga and video game are all set in downtown Tokyo in 2000. Produced by Production IG and the same staff as the movie, the Blood PS2 game is essentially a slightly lower budget, longer sequel Blood anime movie split onto two Playstation 2 DVD discs and turned into an interactive movie game. Because of the requirements of a video game, though, Saya is not the main character, but rather an enigmatic figure who the game player encounters occasionally throughout the game.

Reports out of Japan state that Production IG may produce more Blood animation if the original film proves unusually successful in America. At the present time, there are no plans for any other elements of the "Blood Project" to be released in America.
