OT: What is 2000ed and 3.11 for workgroups?

Sounds right to me. I will put Win98 on a machine any day before I put WinME on it. It is a more stable platform that works better in all regards. I never understood why they messed with it since the end result was that it wasn't as good as the original. Same goes for D&D.
Actually, I like 3.5 better than 3.0. It's just that, like WinME, it has some compatibility issues. Considering that I went from Win95 to WinME, I can't really complain about too much in ME. But... that's a different issue for a different forum.

As far as 3.5 goes, I almost universally like it better than 3.0. The exceptions are things like Weapon Familiarity (easy to house rule), Pokemounts (I ditched Paladin as a base class, anyway), and a Ranger that is more wilderrogue than guerilla warrior (but at least this one is playable, even if it still has TWF as a class ability, something that hasn't been true since 1E). Many things were cleaned up in the "kernal" and very few new "bugs" were introduced.

So, I guess I view it as DND2000 SR1 more than anything else. Doesn't stop me from poking a bit of fun at it, though.

I must be very lucky: my computer runs on Windows Me, and is exceptionally stable. In fact my D&D 3.5 campaign is quite good too. :p
Well, with ME, if you upgraded an existing Windows 98 OS to Windows ME, the core of the OS was still the more stable Win98. That kind of a PC would crash less often (whereas ME would blue screen of death every time you went to shut down Windows).

Um, I suppose you could continue the anaology to 3e/3.5e, but I don't see how a converted campaign is any more stable than an original one :heh:

Hehe...and what does the perpetrator have to say for himself?

it is the clean version of what i would really call it. ;)

i have some rather nastier versions but PKitty asked me not to repeat them. so i have obliged.

i refuse to call them 3.0ed...as for me that is the revised Holmes Basic.

I actually had better stability with Windows ME over both Win98 and Win2000 :(.

98 hated certain USB devices, and 2000 would randomly disconnect my cd-roms. Me worked with both quite nicely.

XP works much better than the other three now at least :).

Then get used to having people misunderstand what you're talking about half the time.
It's not a problem when we don't understand what he's talking about.

It's when we do understand him that the problems start.

diaglo, your names for the newer editions could even be seen as somewhat prophetic, given the news of Microsoft's acquisition of WoTC.

I've never been a fan of stuff like "Winblows" & its ilk. I've enjoyed these terms of diaglo's, though. Maybe because they seem more like satire to me than just immaturish attempts at cleverness.
