(OT)-?What System?

First Post
I remember reading about an extensive gaming system (not d20) that covered every possible situation in battle with great depth from the weight and speed of the weapon and how that affects damage. Even though this system seems a little to slow and in depth for me I was just interested in seeing what they did? But what was the system? I read about it in the general discussion forum about 2 months ago but can't find the thread to find the system's name. Any one know what I'm talking about?

sounds like Rollmas--er, Rolemaster to me. : ] Some folks swear by it for being highly realistic and detailed, and therefore absurdly complicated. You know what I think is pretty cool? The system that the new Lord of the Rings game runs on looks kinda cool at first glance. : ]

I'd like to see a highly detailed system that actually uses a consistent set of rules. Most of the high-complexity/realism games aren't really very complicated or realistic, they've just got a gigantic pile of rules to wade through. Maybe that's the trouble, huh? Maybe life is just highly inconsistent and full of exceptions. *shrug*

Rolemaster is definitely the way to go if you want a realistic combat system. Once you get used to the rules, the battles don't take much longer than D&D battles do.

I would suggest hunting down the second edition Rolemaster books (Character & Campaign Law, Spell Law, Arms Law, and Creatures and Treasures I) if you can. The 2nd edition system was (IMO) much better than the revised system.
