[OT] Who can you sing like?

I love my voice. Nice and deep. Scares freshman on the first day of school when i do the morning announcements.

"Good Morning, BHS...Please rise for the Pledge... NOW!"

Okay, i never said that... would've been funny though :D

But my singing voice on the other hand...yeuch. I can't stand the... I dunno I guess you'd call it tone of my voice. I can hear what I want to sing, and can tell if i'm off-key or out of tune..but it...just always sounds .... gahh... to me.

Apparently I'm halfway decent or something... i'm in the top choir in school and have had two pretty big parts in musicals--Daddy Warbucks in Annie and Bela Zangler this year in Crazy For You. *shrugs* i dunno.

In my stand up act (back in the day) I used to do a lot of impressions and voices (actors, politicians, cartoon characters, etc.) I can sing like a lot of them but of course, none of them are noted for their ability to sing. On the other hand, my own voice is versitile but not in the least professional, so I can carry a tune but wouldn't dream of calling myself a singer.

I thought I had heard somewhere you did standup... no wonder you're such a riot at the table. :D That's, like, exceedingly cool!

It's always been a goal for me to be like exceedingly cool, if not actually cool to some degree.. :p

Thanks, Trev! ;)

Thanks, Trev!

You're quite welcome. :)

And yes... it's, like, cool! Leave me speak alone! If I spend too much time in the halls of my school I will either talk like a valley girl or a gangsta...and I spent 14 and a half hours there yesterday....*shudders*

There are a few songs I can match quite well, most noatably "spiders" from system of a down. I dont know what it is about that song but I can match Serj's tones near perfectly (quite frankly I might just harmonize well, I cant really tell). Hell, most system of a down songs I can match pretty well as long as he dosent go too high. One of my friends says I sing pretty well, and this is coming from someone who has been in chior for god knows how long (and is quite the accomplished singer herself). Personally I think she's just being nice. Also, the dude who actually sings (as opposed to screaming/growling) in mushroomhead I can match pretty well.

Also, i can do some really good cartoon voices/accents. My Meepo voice had the entire table in stiches back in the sunless citadel. Me irish accent is passably decent as well, course if you use that accent in wal-mart you get some really strange looks :p .

The Notorious B.I.G.

Damn I'm missin you. =o(

Uh-huh, I was a shame, my crew was lame
I have enough heart for most of em long as I got stuff from most of em. it's on, even when I was wrong I got my point across they depicted me the boss, of course my orange box-cutter make the world go round

Hopefully my band can get some stuff digitally recorded, after which I'll definately post it here.

Nice. I'd be interested in hearing what's coming out of KY. Not exactly the center of the music scene, ya know?

For a while I think I actually lived just down the street from some of the A.F.I. guys, but they never played any shows at Gilman that I recall so maybe they were out touring or something.

I'm not really looking at music as a career choice, though it's one of the main things I do. There are tons of really excellent bands, locally, in Lexington.

I'm moving to Los Angeles or San Diego next May, and I'll probably be focusing on my painting, living with my girlfriend, all that good stuff.

And if I strike a record deal? w00t! But I'm not planning on it. :D
