Despite getting stuck working late and arriving nearly an hour after I meant to, and despite the parking lot being shrunk by snowbanks and having to circle around for nearly ten minutes to find an open spot, I DID get back in Wednesday night.

Smith barbell inclined bench: 115x5 (someone left 45s on the machine), 100x12, 100x11, 100x7; bonus heavier set, steady, up 2, down 3. Fine.

Hammerstrength overhead shoulder press: 45x9+3 (rest pause), 50x10, 50x10 +40x3; dropped 5 lbs but added the 3 rest pause reps, held steady, held steady.

Machine biceps curls 70x22, 70x14, 70x10; up two reps, down two, down EIGHT. Hrm. Possibly mostly from cutting the rests short, since I was in a hurry and running late for D&D.
I went back in Thursday night (first back to back nights since December).

Lat pulldowns 120x15, 120x12 +105x4, 120x11 +105x4. Increased weight set 1 and dropped 3 reps, increased weight set 2 and dropped reps but added the drop set, kept total reps same on 3 but with higher weight.

Triceps press machine 110x25, 110x25, 110x25. Only my second time with this machine. Increased weight and reps significantly, but that's probably just getting comfortable with the movement.

Leg extensions 100x15, 100x15, 90x12. Increased weight by 20 and kept reps same on 1 and 2, increased weight by 10 but dropped 6 reps on set 3 compared to last time (Jan 18). My quads were screaming at me, so this felt like good productive work.

Saturday late morning went it with a young lady I've been seeing, who's trying to make a regular habit of the gym but doesn't have a routine yet, so we tried several things, lower, upper and core.

A few minutes of stair climber for warm-up, which already had my quads complaining.

Machine biceps curls 50x10 +70x15, 70x15 (short breaks)

Dumbbell split squats 20s x5 +10s x5 on each side, 10s x 10 on each side

Machine abdominal crunch 100x10 +150x10, 150x15

Hip abduction machine 80x15 +110x15, adduction 80x1 +65x20, abduction again 110x20, adduction 65x15 +50x5. Got some nice soreness from this for a couple of days.

Sigh.

Spent hours working on Renos on Sunday, followed by cleanup of the side effects of drywall renos. Dust. Electrician came today, so couldnt really clean up the kitchen to make food, and had to run around after anyway so.

Sunday Food - Fail.

Didnt sleep well last night for reasons.

Sunday Sleep - Fail.

Electrician here today all afternoon. Food disrupted.

Monday Food - FAIL. GYM ON EMPTY STOMACH - FAIL. 191.6 WEIGH IN. - FAIL.

Went to the Doctor to review my blood/heart testing.

Good? No Celiac. Heart is fine. Kidney's fine.
BAD? Elevated cholesterol, elevated Liver markers.

FAIL.

He also recommends I drop all my supplements (lol?) while I already knew I needed to clean up the diet, I didnt expected this.

So FINE, diet improves today with dinner.

Oh, and the gym was slammed, first Monday of a new month? I guess? I dont now.

Everything at the gym was good. Energy was fine. Took too long because it was packed but whatever. Order of my sets was disrupted, just.not.a.good.day.

I have a call at 5:30 AM tomorrow, so...yeah.

They can't all be winners!

I definitely overdid it on the hip machine Saturday. I've actually got enough soreness in my inner thighs that it messed with my sleep last night. 😅 Should have just gotten up and taken some ibuprofen, but I'm stubborn. I'll take some tonight if it's still a problem.

Got in Monday night and did a little upper body work.

Machine shoulder press 50x15, 60x11, 60x9 +50x3. Comparable to when I last did this one, in mid November.

Reverse delt flies 70x18, 80x15, 80x15. Just about the same or a little heavier than when I last did these fully in early December, before my deload week

Triceps press machine 110x27, 120x25, 120x20. Compared to last time up 2 reps, up 10 lbs and same reps, up 10 lbs and down 5 reps. Third time on this machine and I feel like I'm getting my form dialed in.

My body was not meant to gain 30 pounds in a year.

I knew that I was pushing it with my poor diet. Now I must change my perspective.

If I do not lose strength, I can lose weight, and I am pretty sure I will have lost 5-8 by next Monday.

Arms/Shoulders, was good, but I'm fighting a funky mood lol

Onward.

IMO temporary strength losses are ok too, especially if we're losing weight and getting leaner. It's a cycle over time.

Logically I follow, but I'm having a hard enough time that I didn't reach my 195 goal, that if I lose strength as well I may tilt completely.

On the positive side, slept really good, and realized last night, that I didn't like forcing myself to eat till I was sick all the time, so I'm fine losing the weight.

Gains will be slower I'm sure but that's OK.

Yeah, that sounds like you were overdoing it. Your strength and weight gains have been impressive AF, but the support stuff (heart, joints) all has to slowly get stronger too. And if we outpace them it makes sense that we're going to need to dial back the weight to a level they can support.

Yeah, my digestion has been a problem this whole time honestly, and now confronted with the objective truth of 'hey you are not only feeling sick every day, but your liver is crying uncle.' well I am stubborn, but even I have my limits.

SO!

I started eating better right after getting those results, I'll maintain the gym levels, and I'm going to add a nightly walk after dinner and we will see how it goes.

I also have cut the energy drinks cold turkey, for Green Tea, because the energy drinks alone probably were doing a number on my liver at this rate.
