It's a good question. I'll post a map with grid squares. It'll look something like this:

A pit trap next to the beer room? What kind of sick and twisted DM are you?!

The IC is up and available for you to begin posting in and enjoying. We'll stick to in-character roleplay through the weekend, with a focus on developing the flavor of your characters. FYI, I'll be busy Thursday and Friday mornings each week, so I tend to post early in the morning (US eastern time zone) or after 11 am-ish. Tomorrow is no exception.

So I like what I'm seeing in the IC a whole lot. Nice to see all of you posting in-character. I walked out of my house this morning without my OotA hardcover, so need to get home and take a look at something before I respond with the results of your d20 rolls. Hate to make ya'll wait until later, but there's no getting around it; I need to consult that resource before I reply. I have been informed that I am to enjoy wings, beer, and frivolity this evening at a pub, so I'll get a post up before I jet for that. More later from me!

OOC: Insight roll

Even in her own misery, she was one of those rare people who thought of others and cared for them. Kamael felt gratitude for the fact that Solace was with him, and then immediately felt guilty, wishing that she was safely back on the surface. Tssh, he chided himself, deal with the situation you're in and keep trying to find out what the others here know about this "Underdark".
Is Kamael's Insight roll an attempt to discern what Solace is up to when she scopes out the number of guards and the lock, or is it something else?

Yep, that's it..turns out he's actually got a slightly biased view of her:) It could just be the stress of the situation, but I wonder how much stuff she gets past him?!

It was a poor roll. Kamael has 60' darkvision, but it's pitch black in here, which means he can see only as if in dim light. I think it's totally reasonable that he and anyone else with darkvision could have made out that the drow vary the number and type of guards, sometimes only three, sometimes as many as six. Would Kam's Insight roll permit him to figure out what Solace is up to? If we go by just the roll, the answer is no. But would a roll even be necessary? That depends. You two have written your background so that Kam and Solace are close. No one else did that, so there should be some in-game benefit for what you've written. If you two think you have been in altercations before, Kam might very well know what Solace is up to. In any event, I think there's room to whisper and talk a little inside the cave in between visits from your guards, so hopefully it won't boil down to guesswork.

Your call. I'll let you rp the Insight roll as you deem best.

:D
