I messaged Morrus this morning to inquire whether he could tinker with the code for the site to get it to permit the journal to recognize and accept the correct font for quotation marks. When I type them, they show up as something wonky like "&quot." Which is weird, because the journal text editor accepts code for italics.

I see you say in the IC that Brinn's passive Perception is 16, but I keep coming up with 14 when I look at his RG sheet (+2 Wis, and +2 for being proficient in Perception). Alert nets Brinn +5 to init (and some other good stuff, too), but not a boost to Perception. What is it I'm not seeing?

I just called for init in the IC.

We're going to need a map. I have a hell of a long day ahead of me tomorrow, but will try very hard to get a grid square map up in the IC by late tomorrow night. For now, you can all assume that your character is within 30 feet of the gate.

While we're on initiative rounds, I call each of you up one at a time to resolve your turn on init. Through trial and error, I've found that doing it that way provides clarity as to who does what when, and what the battlefield/encounter looks like when it's your turn. My custom is to provide a map update very frequently (almost every person's turn). I've called for both init and actions, but if it gets to be your turn on init you can restate your actions based on what already occured in the IC.

If your mobile device won't do tags, [MENTION=33284]Yavathol[/MENTION], don't worry about using OOC or sblocks when you're posting on the fly in the IC. I don't want players winding up frustrated to the point that they throw up their hands in disgust and stop posting (not that you're at this point, you're not, just thinking for down the road). Just type out the content and post it plain jane. Substance over form, yeah?


ALL: Conference is covering juvenile delinquency material all day today, and as I'm taking over the JD caseload starting Jan 1, I'm avoiding EN World today (save for breaks like right now) so I can learn a few things. I'll need to return to my office tonight after the conference ends to get some work done, but still intend to do a map and Round 1 late this evening.
