D&D 5E Out of the Abyss OOC

Pace: I think the introduction of a new player/character goes better with fewer participants. The goblin will be less defensive if he's confronted with fewer new faces/voices making demands and asking questions so I'm perfectly fine with Solace being the party face in this situation. While I could post Raza collecting gear and getting ready to travel, I haven't yet to avoid detracting from the more important scene.

As for decisions, as player or character I don't feel like I've had any say in any that have been made.

Yes, I hadn't consciously thought about it like that but felt it would be best to wait on posting ic until solace had finished talking to ce'rek.

Sorry to hear that GE, so what would you suggest we do once Ce'rek joins up?

...everyone is very considerate of giving everyone else a say and allowing them to role play, which is great but possibly makes it harder to make group decisions?
This tends to be a thing on PbP. To some extent, the level of "make-nice" varies in contrast to the level of aggression depending on what type of game and what type of playstyle preference the players have. I've played in a PbP game where the dominant playstyle revolved around powergaming and strategery. It was not a game I enjoyed, but then again we never had an issue with decision making.

This is a comment that concerns me. I want each of you to feel a full partner in decision making. That's a different animal than the group doing what I want, however. Things won't always go the way I prefer, but at a minimum everyone should feel comfortable voicing their input and know they've been heard.

If folks will be online even a little bit this weekend, I'd like to go ahead and wrap up Ce'rek's introduction to the group. If possible, I'd like ya'll to discuss in the IC (or here) where you'd like to head next and come to a decision by Sunday night. Hopefully.

Remind me of our options at this point, please?

All: I'm super-sorry for being absent for a while. Work has us pulling back-to-back double shifts because we're somewhere near 25 officers down at the moment. I'm pretty much work and sleep. I was off yesterday and spend the day getting caught up on things around the house, and have finally made a little time to spend here with you guys today. Unfortunately, it all starts over again tomorrow, so...

If it comes to the point where I start holding things up too badly and you think it'd be best to replace me, I understand. It won't be the first time my job has ruined my personal life. I hope it doesn't come to that point, but no hard feelings if it does. Anyway, thanks for putting up with me thus far...

You guys had been making for Sloobludop, and in theory could still head that direction. It lies to the west of you current location, down the passageway from which Ce'rek issued. Shuushar seemed confident Sloobludop was only an hour away. The only other option for a location known to the party right now is to turn around and return to Velkynvelve, which would be somewhere between a six to eight day walk. Brinn has promised Stool to take him to Neverlight Grove, but Brinn does not know the way (and neither does Stool). Jimjar stated back in Velkynvelve that he knew which passage out of Velkynvelve led to Blingdenstone, but he did not seem eager to make for Blingdenstone.

Nonsense. You'll perhaps have a freer schedule starting in July? We can limp Kago along until then. July is only three months away, a relatively short time. If, however, you're feeling too harried between work and home, it's no problem if in the future you need to recuse yourself or take a sabbatical.

If it doesn't free up at the beginning of July it'll damn sure free up at the end when I retire! Hopefully I won't have to wait that long though. Thanks for understanding.
