Brinn attacked with advantage. I must've missed the natural 20 in the flurry of posts. Yes, if Brinn's gotten a natural 20, that's a critical hit. Would you please roll the additional damage die for the crit? The first is whether I was attacking at advantage or disadvantage, and if advantage, was it a critical hit? (one of the two rolls was a 20).
This is a good question. When I'm rolling, I roll attack and damage all in one shot because I've found it's more expedient to do so. Each damage die is therefore linked to the attack roll preceding it. So if I've rolled three attack rolls and three damage rolls, the first damage roll is associated with the first attack roll. If the first attack doesn't hit, then I ignore the associated damage roll and move along. That's what I did for Brinn. It's my preference for how we handle multiple attack rolls in the future, too, because it's all my pea brain can do to keep the rules semi straight as it is, and I'm loathe to swap out long-standing (for me at least, I recognize it's not long standing for a couple of you) procedure. The second is how I should list damages if I am rolling multiple times.
Nodding. Yes, please. It never occurred to me to clarify this, and I should have. I'm glad you pointed it out, thanks.Should I have broken out damage by attack?
Psaw. It was hilarious! (in a good way) If it's a comfort, the site misfiring on rolls has happened to me more than once...though, yours was truly epic. My congratulations, sir, on livening up our afternoon.Since I am apparently moving to coyote code, maybe this won't be a problem in the future. That was a heckuva thing.
Now it works! AND IT'S A 1!!! I'm sorry, but that's just too rich! Here, I'll do you one better...would you believe that Brinn's critical hit for the extra 1 point of damage turns out to be enough to kill K'nyr? After that, I just can't help myself. I live to amuse! So here goes nothing
Yavathol said:I've never seen this before, but I assume you can ready an action to move? Or do you have to take a proper action? He will eat an opportunity attack with disadvantage from the prone drow, readying to move as far out of the cell as possible without provoking attacks from the guards outside, as soon as the way is clear. If not allowed, disengage from the drow and move towards door without engaging quaggoth!
