Well, i found this spoilerific image that dropped my hopes about the creature.

I always considered Irons in the D&D movie to be very near the platonic ideal of over acting.

Now imagine if Ewe Boll had been directing that movie.

Saw this yesterday as a preview and thought it was all right. Didn't exactly rock my world. There's a lot of the usual Viking and alien movie tropes. Very much a B-movie, though the filmmakers have done their Viking research at least. Perlman isn't too bad as a rival Viking warchief, but he doesn't have that much screen time.

The beastie looks like a combo of a displacer beast and a dinosaur, with flourescent effects, with huge teeth of course.

One nice bit is how Jim Caviezel's race has eliminated the alien beastie's race in their pursuit of habitable lands. So the alien is just getting a little payback..
