D&D 5E Outrider subclass for Rogues.

How about Caballero, since most people think of Zorro when they think of them, but honestly, if you are making a riding rogue class and not thinking of Zorro, you aren't doing it right.

I like the concept of the mounted rogue, but instead of a fey/celestial companion, the subclass should simply have special abilities when mounted. A real highwayman is constantly losing his/her mount, and then stealing a new one.

Temporary name. Do you have a suggestion?

chevalier
Postilion
Out Rider

Postilions were originally the riders who escorted coaches acting as scouts, guards and carrying messages ahead of the main party (hence post= send letter)

"Outrider" is good.

I guess Knight-Rider would be my first choice, but maybe you could go for Knight-Rogue or another version of that wording. Really, all kidding aside (not really) I think you could actually name the class Knight-Rider, because it could work.

The main reason why it’s a Spirit Horse is because this allows the subclass features to be tied to a mount. If let’s say someone that sees this and the DM gives the OK, the problem is I don’t want a PC to have there mount die, and not be able to get a new one until they have enough gold or run into enemies that use mounts. Something else to remember is you can’t take a horse everywhere with you. For example you can’t bring a horse in a mansion most likely making your subclass features useless if combat ensues.

I don't recall Knight Rider being part of the KKK. You know how stupid it would look if K.I.T.T wore a white tarp with a slit cut out for his robo eye thing bobber? Probably should have the evil twin mustache put on the front grill though.

Author's Note: If we are talking about the class not being called Outrider originally, then got ya.
