Ill second this one. Its gotten old in a hurry. Verisimilitude is fine by me, and I wouldnt feel right using any word other than session to describe our game SESSIONS.
I hope therapy is going well. The voices only seem to be real...

'Character build' really gets on my nerves.

Me too.

Don't know why... :)

I, also, hat "pwned". Or folks saying that a thing "owns". Owns what? :)

Owns Teh R0xx0r, Torm. Of course.

Owning, or if you prefer, having Teh R0xx0r or Teh Funney is quite nice.

What is "R0XX0R", anyway?!

And, um, Lurk rFr ak? It isn't what you said. It's just '3'. That vowl is contraband, now.

I knew I should have stayed behind cover.:p

And for serious banning - deliberately misspelled or otherwise 'amusingly cryptic' misspellings. w3rd, 133+, teh, taht, I really, really have come to dislike them. I don't mind the first time that I see them, but there are entire forums that I no longer visit because of this. I don't even mind when misspellings are used to imply a dialect or accent, so y'all does not bother me, but roxxorz? By any of the spellings that I have seen? Bah.

Verisimilitude does not mean the same thing as realism, but rather refers to a seeming of realism and to internal consistency. An importand word for game designers to know.

I encounter meh, beh, bah, and feh on a daily basis, usually from an older Jewish man that I know. I believe that for at least some of them the derivation is Yiddish, or at least New York Yiddish. They do not mean quite the same thing, but rather an increasing amount of disparagement, often combined with hand gestures, and in extreme examples gestures with the feet as well. Meh is accompanied by a rotation and counter rotation of the hand, implying 'so-so'. Beh goes along with a back hand gesture with the hand curved toward the front but not closed in a fist - opening as the hand is moved away from the center of the body. Bah is often included with a forward slapping motion, Feh, is similar to beh with the hand brought downwards as though casting something down. Bah and feh are often two handed movements, while I have only see him employ the feet with feh, bringing them up from the floor.

The Auld Grump, no, I am not making the above up...

I'd like to ban "low-magic", because it's a misleading term. Sometimes it means "few magical items", sometimes it means "few spellcasters", sometimes it means "few PC-class spellcasters", sometimes it means "spellcasters don't get many spells as treasure and they're hard to purchase", sometimes it means "I've redesigned the magic system to be less powerful", and it nearly always means "Waaah! D&D doesn't replicate my favourite fantasy novel(s) perfectly!" ;)
