I'm finding myself quite unable to get worked up over the opinions of a committee from that bastion of higher education, Lake Superior State.

Well, OK, but I should expect to be laughed at, then, since they don't mean the same thing.

At what point did being educated and using correct vocabulary become "pretentious?"

Yeah - it's important to know GOOD words, like fangoriously, gelatinous, and linebacker. And to use consomate 'v's. :D
 



Keeping out of the more political aspects of some of these...

The problem with "blog" is that it is a darned ugly word.
