In many tactical games, either tabletop miniature combat games, turn-based computer/console games or even FPS massive multiplayer games make use of some sort of overwatch action, usually to provide cover for allies in forward position or deny free passage to enemies. In many TTRPG, "overwatch" is basically another name for a "ready" action, but ready actions are rarely worth it versus using your action on your round to take an immediate active part in the battle.
Is there a TTRPG that makes good use of overwatch, suppression/cover fire without making them niche or underpowered options? Any modern/futuristic game that include tactical element without being a full fledged tactical miniature combat game?
