Page Plus 11?

First Post
Well, a few months ago I upgraded to Page Plus 10 (from 8), and have been very happy with it. Then I read up on Page Plus 11, which sounded even better*, but was a lot pricier.

Today I just recieved an offer to purchase PP11 for $40 (twice what I paide for PP10).

It looks good, it sounds good, but has anyone on these boards used it? I've barely cracked the cover on PP10 for goodness sake! :p I know that The Fool has used PP10 a lot more than I have, and am hoping that he has also managed to get his mitts on PP11.

The Auld Grump, likely to give in to the temptation, but needing to make at least a token attempt at resisting...

* The biggest two, at least for me, is the ability to make fillable PDF forms and the ability to edit existing PDFs.

No response? I am vaguely surprised that no one has tried the program.

Ah well, I have pretty much talked myself into getting it - I misread the price last night, and at $30 I really can't go too far wrong. And it includes the shipping.

It just feels wrong getting the upgrade so soon after buying the program, like I haven't gotten my money's worth out of it somehow... :\

So, I will just tell myself that version 11 is worth $50 (probably true) and try to ignore the fact that I bought the older version. (Yes, I know that doesn't make any sense, but I am very good at tricking myself. :p )

Maybe I will end up giving the older version to one of my friends.

*EDIT* It also includes a cheesy plastic USB mini hub that I will never use - I still have two empty ports on my computer....

You could always eBay the USB mini-hub to claw back a couple of dollars ;)

As for PagePlus, sorry, never used it (in any version). I was actually hoping for some feedback as well because I might be "in the market" for something like that.

The Fool 1972 did a very nice review of PP 10 here on E. N. World. In fact that is why I decided to upgrade to 10 from 8. I was hoping that he had made the jump to 11 so I could sound him out on the program. And I have to agree with him - PP 10 is very nice. Which is somehow making it harder for me to upgrade to 11... (If there is anybody I want to use the old Rolling Eyes emoticon on it is myself...) But at $30 I will swallow my misgivings and purchase what I suspect is an excellent program. :p (At least I can give myself the raspberry...)

As for the mini hub - it turns out that my roomy's computer only has one port, so it will find a home. :)

Free Serif Software has a somewhat crippled version of Page Plus as a free download. While slightly crippled it does not expire, but it does not create PDFs if I recall correctly (which I may not - I never used the free version.)

One thing I did discover about PP 8 - when I replied to The Fool's review I had used it very little. Once I started using it I discovered that it was much better than I had thought. I was under no such illusion with PP10, and dove right in.

Thanks for the information about the free version. That'll be perfect to evaluate it all. Creating PDFs shouldn't be too much of a problem if you can print from PagePlus as I've got a PDF creater on my computer already.

Yeah, broke down and made the order. What finally tipped the scales - I mentioned the sale price to a friend who also uses PP 10 (on my recommendation) and his response was 'can you get me a copy too?' He did not ask whether or not I was getting the program, just assumed that I would. :p

The fillable forms was also a major factor, being able to send my players forms to be filled out and e-mailed back to me (something that I did not even think you could do with fillable PDFs) between games will make certain, more strategic, parts of the game much easier.
