After all, its not us vs them.. which reminds me of a funny story. Mearls and Thompson stopped by this year's Paizocon and we sat around, talking shop over a beer or two. More than one attendee saw us sitting together and gave us funny looks, as if they expected us to start fighting any second.

WotC has some good people - even if they've made poor game design decisions. ;)

Did the old WotC stores sell non-WotC products?

Yes. I bought lots of 3rd party d20 products from the Wizards store in Maryland back in the day. They also had board games, puzzles, and the like.

Yes, they did. In fact, Games Workshop stores sell competing products, as I understand it.

I've never seen non-GW products in a GW store.

That issue of Batman/Spider-Man wasn't one vs. the other either, but people still expect the big names to slug it out whenever there's a crossover. That's as true in real life as it is in comic books.

"What you do not smell is Iocane powder."

I think from now on, whenever we are in a room together, I am gonna have to start snapping my fingers and breaking out my switchblade.

Just last week, I saw Mike Mearls creepin' around outside the Paizo building, and Erik Mona rolled up, so he was wavin' a pistol at Mike Mearls, holdin' it sideways and talking about how he should "step offa' his turf"; Mike, though, he wasn't havin' none of it, and said he would bounce right now, but that he was coming back later with his crew, and then they'd see.

Me, I just bought my stuff and left. No use gettin' in the middle of aggro with a couple of O.D.'s. (Original Designers)

"You wanna know how you get WotC?"

"They pull a broadsword, you pull a fireball. They send one of yours to the cleric and you send one of theirs to the morgue....That's the Seattle way."
