Pathfinder 1E Paizo to publish 2 books

"Age of Worms" is starting in issue #124 of Dungeon. It'll run for a year, and will bring characters from 1st to 20th level. We'll be including a lot of info about it in that issue; enough so that a DM'll know where the campaign's heading even though the last adventure won't be out for a year.

Mmm...nice, big book. I'll have to pick this one up, definitely. Especially since I don't pick up Dungeon and have heard so many good things about the Shackled City Adventure Path. :)

A pair of HC books, one of which is a gonzo-deluxe model. Wow. Pretty big gamble for paizo. Hope it pays of for you guys.

This is great news. This is set for a GenCon release right? Hmm, my group will probably be about 40% done with the AP so I'm sure I'll still get a lot of use out of it.

By the way James, any chance my version of Tongue-Eater will make it in there? ;)

$60 for Shackled City, ouch. But probably worth it.

How many pages is the WLD? That's close to $100 right?

the article mentions that Age of Wyrms is the next adventure path. Anyone heard anything about this one?

It's Worms actually. It will take place in the same setting as the Shackled City but not in Cauldron (although it might show up in the AP). The good people at Dungeon haven't released many details about it though although I do remember something about there being more undead in Worms than Shackled.

Well this is great news! I'm running my group through Life's Bazaar now, but I bet anythin we'll still be going through the Shackled City by the time August is here, so this will be great!

I'm all in support of Paizo, so I'll definately be buying both of these. It's also nice to see a Greyhawk supplement come out (since the entire thing is set on the Flanaess).

James, you say the Age of Worms Adventure Path will run for a year? I thought the plan this time was to have twenty adventures, one for each level, which would make it run well over a year.

So we'll have multiple installments of the path in some issues then?

I don't disagree with this approach at all, btw. I think it makes sense in terms of encouraging new subscribers. Subscribe by "X" and check "Y" on this mail-in card and the adventure path WILL be yours (oh yes, she will be).

Good call as well on value added stuff + posters to Avd Path book. Encourages present magazine owners to buy it and the poster adds further incentive to not simply pirate the damn thing (an ugly word around here, but pdf piracy is a big issue in the industry. Pretending it isn't is not terribly helpful).

Not sure I'll ever run it - but I am sure that I will buy it.

The original plan was indeed to do a 20-part Adventure Path, with each adventure being fairly short. Then we realized this'd take close to 2 years to complete. This is too long, so instead we opted to do 12 adventures, making the first 2/3 cover 2 levels each (similar to how we handled the adventrues in the first Adventure Path).

It'll still take characters from 1st to 20th level. It just won't take a 2 year subscription to get it all.

James, any word on whether or not AoW will be set in Greyhawk? IIRC, Erik had said the next AP was going to be Greyhawk-friendly if not explicitly in Greyhawk.

I wish I had known about the Adventure path book sooner. I would have waited to start the campaign. My group just finished Life's Bazaar. I plan to run other adventures to get them up to level for Flood season. You said something about an adventure between them the bridge the gap, right James? This isn't fair. I will have to use my Power Words : Delay tactic and hold off.
