BTW, why is an Amulet of Mighty Blows so expensive?

Check the magic item slot guidelines in the back of the DMG. It's abilities don't fit the amulet slot, thus a surcharge.

For a boat load of attacks, you could go monk 11/paladin 1, TWF, ITWF.

+7/+7/+7/+7 (1/2 str da)/+2/+2 (1/2 str da) ain't too bad. The ascetic knight feat helps with smiting evil, too or you could just not worry about that part.

Which reminds me, there is that other feat (in Comp Adventurer?) that allows a monk to use Cha in place of Wis for the various abilities.

Ascetic Mage. Doesn't work for Stunning Fist iirc, only for the armor bonus.
