Paladin of Shadows prestige class

Lowering the BAB requirement adds 2 points. Adding hide to the class skill list changes nothing, and increasing the hit dices adds 5, for a total of 7 points.

The difficulty I see with this class is there are so many requirements, I can't figure out the progression to get into it. You would need 4 to 6 levels of fighter to get the feat progression (more if not human), which would also get you the BAB, and one or two levels of rogue to get the skills, since the Fighter gets terrible class skill points and most of those skills are cross class.

What I don't see here, in either the color text or the class abilities, is what these requirements are used for. Why does the class require an expert at Diplomacy and Intimidation? Why does the class fighting style require Two Weapon Fighting (since they can use only one weapon), Power Strike, and Great Cleave?

My point here is to review all the requirements. The need to have a beloved, then both travel to the plane of shadow to take part in a set of trials that may kill you is a fairly significant limitation all on its own. This reflects my personal bias, I would like to see more PrC's written with roleplaying requirements like this class, rather than the game mechanic requirements.

its weapon is a 2-bladed scythe its a double weapon thats why it needs the feats
and i thought that G. Cleave is needed for shadow cleave to work, but you will not see the classes true power till i release its "Sister Class" ( the class the Chars wife needs to get) the Master of Shadows im working on typing it up now.

If Shadow Cleave requires Great Cleave, it does not say so. The way I read it, Shadow Cleave gives Great Cleave and the ability to use shadow jump at the same time.

I look forward to the Master of Shadows.

Well, I suppose I'll add my imput as well, just for chuckles. It looks like a pretty solid prestige class overall. I would specify whether the ability for blessing of Dyne is put in the Paladin's hands or in the weapon itself. If the latter, I would specify what happens if the Paladin loses the weapon; if the former, I would specify whether he can apply it to any weapon or only those granted by his class.

By the way, is the Paladin "helpless" (and I use that term loosely) while he's using Dark Vortex? Not that anything could realy hurt him anyway, but I'm just curious. By the way, this is one of the cooler powers I've seen made in a while.

If you really want to mess with your players and make Blessing of Dyne a little more fair (just for the sticklers; I think it's fine personally) you could have the stats be randomized (D6, reroll on redos).

All in all, very good. Now run it through a spell-checker, hopefully one that will catch "delt".

Thanks for all the input guys. Ill have the sister class the "Master of Shadows" posted before to long.:D And the bonus from the Blessing of Dyne only applies to the weapon that is given to him at the temple and if he looses it TOUGH. he will just have to go back to the temple and get another one made before he may advance in levels. and no he is not "Helpless" when using the vortex skill, he may make saves (but not reflex cuz he has to move, but he can just re-direct it anyway) speak and such.

by the way if anyone is planing on playing this class send me an e-mail. i love to see my stuff put to good use:D zantetsuken788@hotmail.com
