You know how all Paladins act like they are Policemen and very full of themselves... or not ?

well, since "Brave and Just" is leading by a landslide, it doesn't seem like the "policeman" comparison is too valid (in my eyes, at least.)

I'm wondering about THIS poll:
Do you play a paladin as a representative of a organization (a group of knights-type), or as an individual, on their own to change the world?

The only paladin I ever played would have preferred to eschew combat if possible, but she was willing to fight to defend herself or others. If she had the choice, though, she would prefer to guide and lead others, provide advice and council, and help to find non-violent solutions.

She was simply a Christian who discovered that she had the power (and thus the responsibility) to actively defend her beliefs. Unfortunately, in the modern day, she found those beliefs hard to consistently uphold, especially in light of her companions.

We tend to play Paladins as solo representatives of their religion and divinity. Once in a while we find a temple of the God and have chance to "report" back...

The policeman comparison happens too often... police in the bad sense... overpowering and bossy usually...

I personally am crazy to play what I call a humble paladin... a paladin that doesnt even know he is one... he had clerical training and then set out as a "fighter" ... his healing he thinks comes from his reasonable herbal knowledge and clerical training...

What do they suck ? dont need to answer...

Why do you think they suck ? The concept is actually neat and having reasonable saves helps... but being Awful Good is terrible...

Not very well. We don't use them for that reason. I've actually only gamed with a few people who could pull it off and then it was just plain annoying.

Ignorant and deluded

This is what I would pick if it was available. Playing a paladin seem to be an excuse to not having to bother about anything. Chaotic Neutrals aren't as self-righteously stupid as the paladins. Most seem to think that just because you are a paladin you can main, torture and kill on a whim. If the DM acts up or warns the player of unsuited behaviour you can always expect a tirad of arguments that pretty much validates any course of action. If the DM strips the player of his paladinhood salvation is never farther away than the next atonement spell.

2 players have run paladins in two different games...

One played a Brave and Just Drow who was cursed into a good alignment...

The other played a Arrogant, Know It All, Bossy, Flashy, Strict and Unforgiving Dwarf...
