advancement: 2-3(medium size) description: A parchment golem is a small servant, made by apprentice wizards to show their skill at making magical constructs in preperation of making more powerful creatures, such as wax golems. the creature is a fast moving combatant, but extremely weak and is easily dispached in battle, it apears to be a small humanoid with curved body surfaces made of paper, with tightly folded paper "blades" on each arm.
Construction: The construction of a parchment golem costs 5,000 gp, including 150gp for the body, this includes all the materials or compponents that become a permanent part of the creation. The construction of the body requires 100 pounds of parchment, folded over and over to form a body sutible for the golem which requires a dexterity check (DC 15) to create. The creation of this golem requires 500 gp to use for the lab, which resembles an alchemists lab and which is fundamental in the construction of all golems.
The real work is an extended magical ritual that requires a week to complete and requires an 3rd level character with the craft wonderous item feat and requires the spells cat's grace, expedious retreat, and levitate.
Combat:
Parchment golems attack with great speed, and may dance around in combat darting in and out of the air but like all golems they are mindless, following orders from their creators.
Immunities: Parchment golems, due to their light nature are immune to bludgining damage, but every hit with a bludgining weapon knocks them back 5' , and they take 1.5 times more damage from slashing weapons.
fire vunerablity: Parchment golems take double damage from fire, if a save is allowed a success means half damage and a failed save means double damage.
Resistance: Parchment golems have electricity resistance 5 and cold resistance 5 from "dry cold" from "wet cold" they take double damage. (Wet cold involves any type of cold that involves wetness and dry cold involves just the opposite.) (wet cold: an freezing anartic river) (dry cold: dry ice)

That thing is very cool, my friend.

However, I do have a couple of questions/comments...

Why are they immune to bludgeoning? I would imagine that smashing something made of paper would hurt it, wouldn't you?

Also, what is "dry cold?" You said dry ice, but I don't quite get it...a little help?

As for the CR, based just on what it can do and comparing it to the animals in the MM, I would venture to guess about 1/4, mainly because it gets a full hit die and its damage is 1d2-2 (as opposed to -5 on something like the raven).

Looks good! Hope this helps!

I think its because if you get a piece of paper, celotape it down, then go to hell with it using a "FLAT" hammer it will be unaffected

I think the distinction is between sources of cold. An Ice Storm or similar spell would be 'wet cold,' as it involves summoning or creating frozen water which can melt and make the paper vulnerable to tearing.

A better example of 'dry cold' would be Cone of Cold, which claims to drain the heat out of the target creatures, as opposed to freezing them with slush.

That is my take on it, however.

Ah, that makes much more sense, thanks!

I want to see these "Wax Golems" and is there a sub type Earwax Golem as well?

:D

On the other hand these things can be fun, I think I will toss a few at my group and see who comes out with the most paper cuts.

*edit*
Would they get a +1 for their AC since they are small cratures? Or being a golem they natuarly loose that?

Yes, they would get the size bonus. I completely missed that.

You know, maybe the parchment golem could be even smaller, like the size of a large gingerbread man, perhaps? It could easily hide as a scroll, then, and pop out when your enemies are rifling thorugh your stash.
