Parrying enchantment?

From the XPH part of the SRD -
Parrying: A parrying weapon perceives an instant into the future, and of its own accord resists melee and ranged attacks aimed at the wielder, granting a +1 insight bonus to the wielder’s Armor Class. The weapon is so adept at parrying that it even affects incoming powers, granting the wielder a +1 insight bonus on saving throws. The bonuses are granted whenever the wielder holds the weapon, even if flat-footed.
Faint clairsentience; ML 5th; Craft Psionic Arms and Armor, defensive precognition; Price +8,000 gp.

Hrm. That isn't the enchantment I'm looking for. As it was described to me, it allows the wielder to add his BAB to his AC, and apply the weapon's enhancement bonus to AC as well.

Could there be two "Parrying" enchantments? I had thought my DM referenced a book when I asked about it at the game tonight, but perhaps he was checking his notes, and it's a homemade enchantment...

Does this seem familiar to anyone?

That's just Combat Expertise plus the defending enchantment.

Yes, that's how he described it "it's basically like combat expertise, and allows you to add your enhancement bonus to AC as well." He called it "parrying." Anyhoo, guess I'll have to ask him. :)

He probably meant Defending.

Geoff.

I don't think so, since Defending doesn't allow you to use Combat Expertise. Perhaps it isn't an enhancement at all, but a custom item "Dagger of Parrying" that is a defending weapon that also grants the wielder the Combat Expertise feat...

In any case, I've sent him an email about it to find out. :)

Hey, if your DM is who I think it is. He has Dragon 301. It has a decent article with lots of Parry feats. I enjoy using them.
Indeed, it is. :D Perhaps that's it. I don't have Dragon magazine, so that could have been the source. In any case, it's apparently a +1 enchantment. I may have to consider it myself. God knows my paladin is too dense to qualify for Combat Expertise on his own. :p

Edit to add: Welcome to ENWorld! I love this place. :)
