No. I've actually beheaded a player for this, then set fire to his body in his own living room, in front of his wife and children.

Okay, so I didn't. ;) Seriously, I voted yes. I'm fine with this. The way I see it, as a DM, I'm plotting against the players all the time, so why not let them plot against me.

Yes, this thread was inspired by a poster in another thread who viewed note passing as a red flag when considering a new gaming group.

Personally as a DM I find that I do most of the note passing not the players.

Yes, as long as it doesn't hinder the flow of the game too much (but it never hindered the flow of the game, and it only happens occasionally).

Yes, although often it's between GM and player rather than between players (though I've had that, too).

I'd rather everyone have laptops, a LAN and instant messaging to do this, but my group isn't properly equipped - yet. :]

I voted yes, because I've never had any reason to disallow it, but I don't use it frequently, and I agree with the inspiring poster that it can be part of a bad vibe. Some granularity to the poll might have been a good idea.

I allow it, but don't encourage it. It's a matter of practicality.

My handwriting is horrible. My writing a note of more than one word back is pointless as, invariably, I get asked what my note says.

Yes, but too much of it can be annoying. Like too much going out into the hall for secret conspiring. A little adds a bit of spice, surprise and suspense. But a lot could detract from the player co-operation that's essential in my view. I see D&D as basically a team game.
