Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder APs: Best candidates for conversion to legacy D&D?

Which Pathfinder APs are the best candidates, in your opinion, for conversion to legacy editions of D&D (specifically BECMI and AD&D 1e)?

I haven't played it but I would think conceptually kingmaker would fit becmi given some of the rulership stuff is built into the game already. I don't know how hard it would be to hit the right sections of the ap at the right levels though.

Since balanced challenges aren't really a big part of legacy D&D (e.g., purple worms with a save or die attack are statted up as a challenge for characters level 1-3 in the Holmes edit of Basic), I am not sure this will be of much concern. It's also very easy to adjust encounters on the fly in legacy D&D so even if it does become an issue, it's easy to remedy.
 

oh I mention like I think companion was where becmi started the rulership stuff wasn't it? basically I was just saying I don't know what level scope a 1 to 17 AP has compared tp basic since the games scale so differently.

Ah! Gotcha! Yeah, I will probably have to fudge that but, then again, we are talking about converting adventures from Pathfinder to a totally different game system, so I expected some of that. ;)
 

This is purely my opinion.

All of them.

For me, 4e was the breaking point of conversions. It's not that its impossible, but the game works under different mechanical assumptions than previous edition in terms of spellcasters scaling, etc...

The important thing to remember though, is that the AP's aren't necessarily just an adventure in and of themselves. They are also guidebooks to the setting. For example, while Second Darkness gets SLAMMED a lot, the first adventure does a great job with Riddleport and a further adventure does a great job with the dark elf city.

Look over the themes of the ones that sound interesting and move from there.
 

I think if you were going to the effort to convert them I would go with the AP that seems to suit your group's play style the best and then just go for it! I don't think any of them have a major pro or con against conversion, so to me the biggest factor would be making sure the time I spent converting something was an AP that was a good match for the gaming group.
 

I would suggest the Savage Tide AP is easily the best candidate for this in terms of overall flow, feel and relatively straightforward design.

Plus, it has pirates, the Isle of Dread and dinosaurs! And ultimately, the PCs get to fight Demogorgon in the Abyss!

A picnic to the lower planes? If that isn't a 1st edition feel, I don't know what is.
 

Age of Worms I think would be fun for AD&D (either first or second). It kind of has a horror/ravenloft feel from what I've read, a campaign setting I particularly enjoyed during 2e. Not to mention it's pretty easily adaptable to just about any 1e/2e campaign setting, as the Free City is meant to map directly to "X campaign setting" (Free City of Greyhawk for WoG, Waterdeep for FR, Taladas for DragonLance).
