Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Cyberpunk? If not, do you want one?

Wha if Hacking were handled as a party...?

For example, yes, a skilled Hacker could do all the hard stuff himself in the Aethernet or Matrix or whatever you want to call it.

But what if the other party members could also have a digital 'avatar' to protect, search, and otherwise run interference for the Hacker?

Imagine if Hacking were... like... the old Rogue PC game?

Rogue was a single-player game where you play one character- at least, all the versions I've seen were like that. ;) Nethack, OTOH, let you have NPCs and pets join you, IIRC.

But I, too, like the sound of these new hacking rules. Seems good so far, and if it's possible for party members other than the hacker to do things to directly join in the effort and help, then so much the better! I'll look forward to seeing more.

Writing it down... "Co-Op Hacking". Check.

Shouldn't be too hard. An ally can either assist on a firewall attack or attack one while another player targets another. I may have to add a few more rules for that.

I am at the hacker class as we speak (manipulator), using Renaissance as the skeleton is making this conversion a cinch. The plan is to have it down in time for artwork. Considering the speed of which the artists are sending them, I have my work cut out...

I am only cursory aware of Shadowrun. I know of the setting basics but never read the rules. I was a Pondsmith / RTG disciple in my youth. Since the rules are being made from the structure of 3.75, I don't plan on introducing any new mechanics if old ones will do the job just fine. I'll be posting the rules and making them open for criticism soon.
