Pathfinder 1E "Pathfinder" is the name bad marketing in the internet era?

Which these days tends to have less to do with those actual things than it did when it first started. If I had to guess I'd say maybe one in ten adventures I've played in recently had anything to do with one or both of those aspects. More often than not these days the modules I play tend to focus on urban adventures, cross county treks, or something else completely not related to a dungeon or fighting dragons.

Oh, and interestingly, a Google search for Dungeons & Dragons brought up DDO as the first link, for me. Strange days indeed. . .

Are you sure you weren't looking at the Sponsored Links ads at the top of the page? The first real search result is for the D&D Wizards home page. Google ads don't count.

Frankly, I think Paizo's worse problem may be confusion between the RPG, adventure paths, and setting. I've certainly seen that even here, where the audience tends to be pretty informed.

I got the RPG as the 8th link. First three were for the Nissan Pathfinder, then the Pathfinder movie and the Mars Pathfinder.

In today's game we fought a dragon in a dungeon! Sweet!
