Pathfinder on the bookstore shelves? Forked Thread: The 3.5 renaissance!

I can't help but be a little annoyed by this thread, which muses wishfully at the ascension of a game liked by the OP made possible by the death of the game I like and play.

I honestly understand how you feel--I sometimes feel the same way when I see people trash Pathfinder or 3.5. But I don't see anything in the OP's post that suggests he would *like* Hasbro to abandon D&D--just that he thinks it might happen.

As to getting Pathfinder in bookstores--I would love to see that happen, both for Paizo's bottom line and to introduce more folks to the game. And I'd gladly do my part by going to all the local NYC area chains and demanding that they stock Paizo books! Just say the word!

I think Pathfinder will do well because when WotC said “You are not our target demographic” Paizo said “We Heart You!” (Well maybe not those words but that is how it feels).

I bought Dungeon Magazine and Dragon Magazine at my FLGS each month and every month they came out. I continue to buy Pathfinder adventures even though I am not running them, because I enjoy the quality and the content, and every month my players are reading Pathfinder or Kobold Quarterly (not DDI ) at my gaming table.

I don't want it to fail. As I've stated in other posts, D&D is still the best way to bring people into the hobby, due to its name, and anything that grows the tabletop rpg hobby I wish all the success in the world.

"The word."
