[PbP] The Rising of a God

Dweldan will join them for a short while, but excuse himself to go to the bog and then sneak upstairs to his room. If someone catches him (+9 hide and move silently) he'll say that he needs to get his own personal mug, which is lucky. Of course, there is no such thing as Dweldan's lucky mug, he just doesn't want to be recruited to serve on a ship while drunk. Not when sober either actually.

Tj and Gurd have a grand night, with plenty of beer, and lots of female attention. Well, that is what they tell you the next morning...

The rest of the days left until the great Lowfall festival are pretty boring. You spend your days in Seniv wandering the streets, looking for some action. The whole city is preparing and there are numerous carpenters making podiums and stalls for the merchants. Only Argos does not seem to mind the couple of days off. There are posters everywhere, asking for young strong man to help with building several structures. The pay however is minimum.

And thus the day of the great festival began. It is now the 1st of Lowfall, and it's early in the morning. You all sit in the Purple Dragon Inn, enjoying your breakfast, while outside the first sounds of the festivities can be heard. What will you do this day?

I'll walk around to, enjoying to watch everybody work hard. If I see some dwarves I'll make conversation and inform if all is well.

Argos resides in his room as much as possible, getting out only to visit the loo and eat with the fellowship, excusing himself for "being such a bore" telling his friends that "The Art needs constant attention"

If anything happens, feel free to warn me unless my "do not disturb" sign is on the door Argos adds in a stern voice. Of course for grave matters I can always be disturbed, but it would be a waste if I would ruin a scroll or a page in my spellbook for something unimportant.

I leave it up to you to decide what's important

Before actually leaving the village heading for the desert, Argos wants to buy an outfit and basic gear for travelling in the desert.

[check Lawrence of Arabia for details]

[can our cleric create water?]

OOC: I don't know... Can he? Out of thin air? Sounds like a miracle to me... But he can always try. Trying doesn't hurt anyone... Does it? I don't know... How should I? I didn't try anything at all with my character...

"More ale... Keep it going... *BURP* In the name of Fgharlhngheh... *BURP* I will be on the ride again... It is just a matter of *BUUURP* time... Wow, this my friend feels like a trip already..."

The next morning you all enjoy a nice breakfast. Only TJ seems to have some trouble staying awake and does not really enjoy his beacon and eggs. He looks a little green, and is awfully quiet this morning. A note is delivered, clearly from Grisham which reads: "I am aware of your new assignment. Please do not let this delay your more important mission too long."

Suddenly a messenger enters, who walks directly towards the four of you and speaks in a high voice: Your presence is needed in the King Soi's Palace Inn. Please bring your equipment, and hurry yourself towards the Inn

That said, the messenger turns around and leaves.

You finish your breakfast, and take your leave.

When you arrive at the King Soi's Palace Inn, walking past several peasants who lay passed out on the streets, you are amazed at the beauty of the inn. The inn, once an old palace, in the center of the city, is surrounded by a beautiful park. When you try to enter the park (which is hidden from the outside world by a 3 meter high wall) through one of the gates, the four of you are rudely stopped by two grim looking orcish guards. Who are you? WHERE ARE YOUR PASSES? Better show them quick or me and my buddy here will make you regret ever meeting us.

"There is no need to be so rude, we are here to keep the peace. We are hired to make sure no trouble happens here. So if you could let us pass or get your superior I'll be happy." And I look at him with one eyebrow raised.

"Well who are you and who send you. Let me check inside before I'll toss you out." One of the 2 guards runs inside to check while the other looks at you menacingly. A short while later the guard returns and looks rather disappointed as he says "You can go in."

It's noon and it's a sunny day and this gives the palace a sort of magical glow. The palace has an "H" shaped form if seen from above and has as far as you can tell as least four floors. The building is made out of marble and looks quite colossal, giving anyone approaching it the feeling that they are quite small. The main entrance is in the center of the "H" and there is a gravel road leading towards it, splitting two ways around a large pond. There are many people about, most of them looking either quite rich or quite important. Servants are running around the place and the four of you feel a little out of place. On one of the fields several young lads are playing a game with a ball and a bat.

When you walk up to the entrance, which consists of four colossal pillars on top of a plateau, with stairs leading to it, you are stopped by a servant. He leads you into the building towards a small study on the first floor where Asaewin Onerig is sitting behind a desk, reading some papers. Without looking up he says "Please sit down."

The study is mainly wood and consists of a leather couch, two large leather seats, a desk and a large seat where Asaewin is sitting. The study has wall to wall closets filled with numerous books.

After ten minutes he finally puts his paperwork down and looks up. "Aah, you have arrived." He looks at the Half-Orc with a raised eyebrow "Even you... Good. Well let me explain your task. It is quite simple actually. You will soon be taken to the auction hall. There all the people will gather for the auction, in about 6 hours. Your task will be making sure no unpleasant things occur during the auction. If someone is being rude, please remove him from the room, but as quietly as possible. I want this auction to go as smooth as a sailing boat goes through water. I will pay a sum of 200 gp for this job, which seems like a reasonable amount of money for a days work. Be especially aware of the tensions between the Wicendannor and Adrendanner. You are free to do anything, until the, but I must ask you not to leave the premises. So do you have any questions? I am rather busy you know...
