The spiked insect near Lord Swifthammer goes into a rampage of claws and bites. Moving with greater dexterity than you’d expect the beast feints a full lunge at Lord Swifthammer. Drawn off guard the two dwarves at Swifthammer’s side are devastated by claws and bite. One guard is impaled three times by the beast's wicked spikes. The other is bitten across the throat. (insanely lucky rolls and damage). Both guards slump to the ground when released by the fiend. Lord Swifthammer though unattacked, this round, seems to succumb to the poisons in his veins and drops to the ground, pale but obviously still alive.
The other spiked insect buoyed by his ally’s success presses his attack against Bal and the other guard. Senseing the weakness in the inexperienced guard the beast directs all four claws at him. Two land deeply and the dwarf falls to the ground wounded but alive. Captain Bal blocks the beasts bite.
Dorn swings his greataxe, scything through the insect's defenses. Both blows leave a deep cracks in the chitin of the bug. (TH 25, 26, Damage 19)
Ichtor finishes the summoning of a pseudonatural xorn. The possibly disoriented can’t pentrate the insects defenses with it’s first blows. (TH 17,18)
Lord Swifthammer bleeds.
The insect near Dorn begins it’s series of attacks with a quick snap of it’s jaws. It then seeks to get under Dorn’s defenses with it’s claws. A bite and 2 claws manage to slip Dorn’s defenses. Once again Dorn’s amazing Fortitude, aided by magic, fight off the sapping effects of the poison. ( TH 22, 23, 27, 15, 20 Damage 20).
The other insectoid still bearing a crossbow lines up a shot at Jonas. The fiend has an amazing aim and buries a bone spike deep in Jonas’s back. The spike is small and does little damage but it carries the fiend's venom. Jonas barely manages to fight off the venom’s effect. (TH Natural 20, fail to confirm, Damage 1, Fort save 19 vs DC 18).
Sean takes time to line up the perfect shot at the spiked fiend fighting Jonas. When the time is right Sean lets loose a bullet of destruction that imbeds itself deep in the creature's skull. The insectoid is sent reeling by the force of the blow. (TH Natural 20, Confirmed, Damage 25).
Nazgrel takes advantage of the insect's staggering to postion himself near the insectoid. He then unleashes a blow of his pick that the beast barely manages to parry. (TH 24).
Captain Bal’s attacks prove unsuccessful against his foe.
Jonas breaks off combat to attack the sniper. The spiked insect takes the opportunity to hit Jonas in the back with his claw. (Th 28, 7 damage) Jonas ignores the blow and advances on the sniper with an air of menance. The fiend can’t block his assault and is deeply gouged by Jonas’s sword. (TH 23, 14 damage).
Claiborne moves to aid Dorn.
The eye zips past the battle and down the corridor.
