[PbP] The Sandman's Binding Game Thread

The spiked insect near Lord Swifthammer goes into a rampage of claws and bites. Moving with greater dexterity than you’d expect the beast feints a full lunge at Lord Swifthammer. Drawn off guard the two dwarves at Swifthammer’s side are devastated by claws and bite. One guard is impaled three times by the beast's wicked spikes. The other is bitten across the throat. (insanely lucky rolls and damage). Both guards slump to the ground when released by the fiend. Lord Swifthammer though unattacked, this round, seems to succumb to the poisons in his veins and drops to the ground, pale but obviously still alive.

The other spiked insect buoyed by his ally’s success presses his attack against Bal and the other guard. Senseing the weakness in the inexperienced guard the beast directs all four claws at him. Two land deeply and the dwarf falls to the ground wounded but alive. Captain Bal blocks the beasts bite.

Dorn swings his greataxe, scything through the insect's defenses. Both blows leave a deep cracks in the chitin of the bug.
(TH 25, 26, Damage 19)

Ichtor finishes the summoning of a pseudonatural xorn. The possibly disoriented can’t pentrate the insects defenses with it’s first blows.
(TH 17,18)

Lord Swifthammer bleeds.

The insect near Dorn begins it’s series of attacks with a quick snap of it’s jaws. It then seeks to get under Dorn’s defenses with it’s claws. A bite and 2 claws manage to slip Dorn’s defenses. Once again Dorn’s amazing Fortitude, aided by magic, fight off the sapping effects of the poison.
( TH 22, 23, 27, 15, 20 Damage 20).

The other insectoid still bearing a crossbow lines up a shot at Jonas. The fiend has an amazing aim and buries a bone spike deep in Jonas’s back. The spike is small and does little damage but it carries the fiend's venom. Jonas barely manages to fight off the venom’s effect.
(TH Natural 20, fail to confirm, Damage 1, Fort save 19 vs DC 18).

Sean takes time to line up the perfect shot at the spiked fiend fighting Jonas. When the time is right Sean lets loose a bullet of destruction that imbeds itself deep in the creature's skull. The insectoid is sent reeling by the force of the blow.
(TH Natural 20, Confirmed, Damage 25).

Nazgrel takes advantage of the insect's staggering to postion himself near the insectoid. He then unleashes a blow of his pick that the beast barely manages to parry.
(TH 24).

Captain Bal’s attacks prove unsuccessful against his foe.

Jonas breaks off combat to attack the sniper. The spiked insect takes the opportunity to hit Jonas in the back with his claw.
(Th 28, 7 damage) Jonas ignores the blow and advances on the sniper with an air of menance. The fiend can’t block his assault and is deeply gouged by Jonas’s sword. (TH 23, 14 damage).

Claiborne moves to aid Dorn.

The eye zips past the battle and down the corridor.

Nazgrel gets two attacks per round, don't forget. +11/+6.

If possible, Nazgrel will cast neutralize poison on Lord Swifthammer. If that would draw an AOO, he will instead do a full attack action on his insectoid.

Jonas will (hopefully) finish of his sniper friend while Claiborne tends to Dorn's wounds being sure to stay out of reach of the venomous critters.



Jonas: full Attack (AT +16/+11 dam 1d8 + 8 crit 19-20 x2); Claiborne trades in Air Walk for a Cure Critical on Dorn 4d8+8 while avoiding AOO.

Dorn would dearly love to head down that corridor, but with this creature pressing him and the cleric risking his neck to get in the thick of things, he decides to just whale the tar out the insect in front of him, "Get behind me cleric! Back to the wall!"

Motion Claiborne to L7 and full attack the insect (Greataxe +13/+8 1d12+6/crit 19-20/x3)
 

Sean with flaring nostrils draws his long sword and steps into place to do combat with the closest insectiod, hoping to down it quickly.

Sean will move to the closest insect (I12 if none move), and attack with his long sword (+1 long sword +10 [1d8+4/crit 19-20]).
 


The spiked one engaged with Nazgrel and the Xorn will begin to plot his attack. He unleashes his bite upon the Xorn who amazingly dances aside! (TH 14). However, the beast quickly recovers and directs claw after claw at Nazgrel. (TH 29,25, 21, 16, Damage 20) The spiked one manages to catch Nazgrel off guard and sinks 3 claws into Nazgrel side.

The other spike one, seeing his sniper in peril breaks off from Captain Bal and the remaining guard to charge at Jonas. The guard still can’t penetrate its defense but Bal lands a solid blow on its retreating back. The beast leaps at Jonas’s back attempting to sink its spikes in the unsuspecting paladin. The beast's momentum carries him through Jonas’s quick defense and it lands it’s spikes deeply in Jonas’s back. (TH 32, Damage 36)

Dorn continues his offensive. Dorn manages to slip two attacks past the fiend’s defense and cleaves a mighty blow in its chest. (Th 26, 24 Damage 28)

The xorn is unable to land any blows on the impaler.

Ichtor magic missles scream across the battlefield and blow chunks out of the chitin armor of the fiend. (Damage 17)

The fiend by Dorn begins a further round of attacks. He fails with his bite but manages to slip his claws in creating a gouge alongside Dorn’s face. (TH 25,24,24,10,11 Damage 20)

The other fiend, now being aided by the impaler attempts to catch Jonas off guard. It drops its crossbow and attacks. (TH 27, 27, 17, 14, 11, Damage 6) The beast finds Jonas a formidable foe but is able to sneak two quick bows on Jonas.

Sean moves to aid Nazgrel and the Xorn. He dances forward and sneaks a quick blow in on the insectoid. (Th 27, Damage 7)

Nazgrel is angered by the beasts cruelty and attempts to bury his pick deep into the insectoid's chitin armor. (TH 28, 26 Damage 10) He succeeds with a brutal blow.

Captain Bal rushes to Lord Swifthammer’s side and pulls out a potion to give his fallen lord.

Jonas calls upon the righteous rage of Nobanion and buries his blade deep into the fiend’s side. (Th 32, 23 Damage 16)

The remaining dwarf guard begins to rummage through his pack for something.

Claiborne channels positive energy to cleanse Dorn’s wounds. (Heals 22 damage)
