Paragon Badger
First Post
The creature doesn't Detect Evil. When you approach the eye-thing it will drop down and hover between the two front guards. They are still completely unaware of it's presence only a foot away from them. It continues to hover watching you as the party moves forward.
About this time one of the front guards turns and says, "We are almost to the mine front just a couple minutes and we should be there."
Lord Swifthammer calls up, "Good, I'll be glad to see my daughter again."
The eye floats along content to watch for an additional minute or so. The party halts when a movement is heard ahead.
"Who goes there?" a guard calls out.
Suddenly the silence of the mines is shattered by two sounds. The first is the scream of a young girl. The second a piercing chittering sound much like an insect would make.
Upon hearing this Lord Swifthammer, forgetting his position, shouts out, "Donvena!" and charges ahead. The guard follow after dropping the torches they carry in haste to draw weapons and charge. The torches don't even sputter as they are dropped and remain lit. The eye is buffeted by the dwarves sudden passing and bobs about in front of you a bit.
The dwarves run ahead to a curve in the mines about 30 feet forward and disappear around the turn. You soon hear sounds of battle.
