[PbP] The Sandman's Binding Game Thread

The creature doesn't Detect Evil. When you approach the eye-thing it will drop down and hover between the two front guards. They are still completely unaware of it's presence only a foot away from them. It continues to hover watching you as the party moves forward.

About this time one of the front guards turns and says, "We are almost to the mine front just a couple minutes and we should be there."

Lord Swifthammer calls up, "Good, I'll be glad to see my daughter again."

The eye floats along content to watch for an additional minute or so. The party halts when a movement is heard ahead.

"Who goes there?" a guard calls out.

Suddenly the silence of the mines is shattered by two sounds. The first is the scream of a young girl. The second a piercing chittering sound much like an insect would make.

Upon hearing this Lord Swifthammer, forgetting his position, shouts out, "Donvena!" and charges ahead. The guard follow after dropping the torches they carry in haste to draw weapons and charge. The torches don't even sputter as they are dropped and remain lit. The eye is buffeted by the dwarves sudden passing and bobs about in front of you a bit.

The dwarves run ahead to a curve in the mines about 30 feet forward and disappear around the turn. You soon hear sounds of battle.

Dorn slaps down the visor on his helmet and pulls free his axe. "Somebody bring a light!" he roars as he follows the dwarves around the bend.

Dorn Hardwood

Nazgrel draws his heavy pick, unslings his shield, and charges around the corner shouting "By Nobanion's mane!!"

Jonas, Shield on his arm, draws his mighty sword and rushes with the dwarves and Swifthammer, "Claiborne, WATCH THAT EYE!"

With that, Claiborne will pass the eye, never turning his back to it and begin utter to the got of good and nobility (while never taking his eyes off of the eye itself), "Noble Nobanion lead our cause to protect those in need"

Jonas charges with the dwarves. He can move 40' and attack or move 160' total. Claiborne will invoke his special power to inspire allies while watching the EYE

Ichtor mumbles to the eye, "Oh what are you hiding?" It then moves forward with the rest, but being careful not to be ahead of them. He would like to see how his spells fare in this universe.

Sean dashes after the dwarfs and his new found companions, drawing his glowing rod (everburing torch) out of its leather slip and clicking it into place as he runs.

Combat Round 1

You run around the corner and are shocked by what you witness. The four guards, Lord Swifthammer, and Captain Bal fight a losing battle. They stand aligned against four frightening foes. The figures have four clawed arms and a chitin exoskeleton. A vile green substance drips from a cruelly fanged mouth. No eyes are seen on the alien face but an air of menace extrudes from the figures. Two of the insectoids have bone spikes extending from their arms and are in melee with the dwarves. Another two stand at a cave entrance with two vaguely crossbow shaped items. Several corpses of miners, half devoured, lie about the cave.

One of the guards is critically wounded, another appears unnaturally pale as if about to faint.

Upon your party's arrival Lord Swifthammer shouts, "I just saw the fiends go down that tunnel with my Fali and Dovena. They appeared to be lead by a strange rainbow hued beast!"

Using Lord Swifthammer’s distraction to its advantage the insectoid bite him deeply on his shoulder. It follows by thrusting at a guard with a set of arms. The wounded guard catches blows directed at him on his shield.

Captain Bal does a quick dodge to avoid the beasts bite and manages to parry a claw attack. The dwarf next to him is drawn off guard by a feint and takes two claw spikes deeply into his thigh.

Nazgrel will cast flame strike centered on square J9, catching Kc1, Kc2, and Kl2 in the 10 blast radius. 7d6 damage (half fire damage, half divine damage), Reflex save half, DC 18.

OOC: I just realized I never specified what spells Nazgrel had memorized. I've now done so, see Nazgrel's link in my sig for details.

Ow.

Dorn rushes towards the tunnel, running by the insectoid battling Lord Swifthammer and engaging the crossbow bearing insectoid.

Double move past KI2 drawing AoO and end up in J8. Dont forget the Periapt vs Poison...

Dorn "Flame Strike" Hardwood
