Well he's not charging with a weapon at least... if I was in your situation as least I'd let that comfort me. Maybe the player figures that if you have a fist fight his character's urges will be sated.

You could also take the gandhiesque resistance method and just let him hit you, not resisting at all. That shouldn't be fun for the player or his character.

I understand your unwillingness to participate in party infighting, but you must also remember what your character is. He is an ELVEN RANGER. This Orc represents everything you character opposes. Everything that a good or neutral ranger would oppose. Gruumush is a god of destruction and the archenemy of the Chief Elven God.

You either quit the game or play your character. The Ranger would kill the Orc most brutally and chop him up good to prevent any raising. Would probably crush his holy symbol too.
