Those, just off the top of my head.

Salron Omens: human rogue ~ one heap of bad luck in one hand, and a double portion of perseverance in the other. Evil dagger that turns you into a serial killer? Yep, been there. Polymorphed into a tree by a vengeful shadow-druid? Done that too.., even after being restored - hair is still green, still hounded by squirrels and nesting birds. Made permenantly invisible? Yep.. no, it's nowhere as neat as it sounds.

Kaz Norisom: human cleric ~ started off a cleric of the campaign's nature diety, had a crisis of faith, spent a while as another class, refusing to cast any spells.. and eventually became a cleric of a different god: the campaign's generic god of good and protection.

(Brother) Kharic Tshenric: human priest / rogue ~ from a campaign that took place on GURPS: Fantasy's world of Yrth. If you're not familiar, the long and short of Yrth is a great ritual to create a dimentional maelstrom went terribly wrong. Instead of cleansing the world of all their enemies, it plucked large groups of other people from other worlds. Including a large group of christians from the crusades - this was several hundred years ago. The primary faith on Yrth is Christianity. Very interesting campaign. Anyway, Kharic could talk to God. Literally. And God spoke back to him. He joined the priesthood at a young age, thinking it was the right thing to do,.. only to discover that the will of God and the will of the church were two very seperate things. He was branded a heritic, excommunicated, and hunted for his 'blasphemies'. During his time on the run he picked up rogue levels to survive.

Yurius ("Yuri") Das'Meru: human rogue/ranger/cleric of olidamarra/divine trickster (current character). Former criminal, until he and his cohorts were caught and pressed into army service in the penal corps, where they were used as skirmish troops in the war with the neighboring kingdom. When the opportunity arose, he and some of his squadmated went AWoL. They were persued, and would be executed as deserters were they caught; and eventually their 'retrievers' caught up with them.. in an old abandoned monastery. Long story short, Yurius was the only survivor, and he only made it by divine providence. And said providence made sure he knew it. After that, thought to be dead, he decided to help others, and took up the mantle of priesthood.

so uh yeah. I like humans. And I like rogues. And I like clerics. Can ya tell?

Abarax (Human Paly 5) a rich noble who is working to bring his family to rule over Cormyr at whatever the price may be. While he is a good man, he is widely feared for his temper. His worst enemy is himself, he has 5 dex, so he really needs to be on his guard.

Naj (Human Wiz 11, Lawful evil) The chosen of bane... The DM has refured to him as the anti christ of FR, and i have achieved this status with him. although recent events have forced me to abandon playing this character all together.

Ixir (Elf rouge5/asn1, chaotic evil) Although hes new in the buisness of death, Ixir was responsible for the assassination of a top general in the Cormyr army. Nobody even knew of his existance before he slayed the general, and only through the process of magical spells was anyone even able to obtain a glance at the assassin.

Adrian (Human Female Vampire Wiz13, Chaotic Evil) While this character did not belong to me, she was the all feared and all lothed vampire created through the unwilling rituals performed on his soul by lolth herself. (yes we actually played this out and it occured around level 10 or so) She concured a small island and established her own twisted and maniacle rulership there, forcing many into slavery and vampireism. where unfortunatly she met her demise.

Some of my characters' names:

Strider. A ranger, of course. FR.

Eldemar Anduin. An aasimar fighter/mage in Ravenloft. "Eldemar" was an NPC in Tolkein, and "Anduin" was the name of the river the FotR floated down after visiting Lorien.

Beren Ritter. A half-elf bard in a home-brew campaign. I took "Beren" from Prince Beren of Flash Gordon, and "Ritter" from the Gabriel Knight computer games. He later revealed a hidden ancestry and changed his name to Beren Amber. "Amber" comes from Castle Amber, of course.

Atavar Coramoor. A human cleric in a Greyhawk/Planescape campaign. As I posted in another thread, "Atavar" is a play on the word "avatar," and "Coramoor" comes from Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time.

Some of my other players' characters' names:

Tonk. Half-orc barbarian in a Greyhawk campaign.

Mungo. Halfling rogue in a Planescape campaign. Named by the same player who played Tonk.

Larkan Blackmoon. Elven cleric/wizard/loremaster/archmage in a long-running Planescape campaign. He started out at 1st level and just made 19th. Probably the most legendary character ever played in my group, thanks to the player's boasting. :) He (with ample help from the party) killed Tenebrous/Orcus, destroyed the original Wand of Orcus, slayed Miska the Wolf-Spider while wielding the fully-assembled Rod of Seven Parts, rescued Waukeen from the clutches of Grazzt, destroyed Acererak in Return to the Tomb of Horrors, stabbed Vecna with the Sword of Kas wielded in the Hand of Vecna, and expelled Vecna from Sigil in Die Vecna Die.

Kristof Silverhand. Celestial aasimar paladin/cleric/comtemplative in the Planescape campaign. No relation to any FR Silverhands.

Mulagen. Dwarven cleric/fighter/planar champion of Moradin in the Planescape campaign.

Hizuka. Human monk in the Planescape campaign.

Blade. Halfling rogue/gatecrasher in the Planescape campaign.

Kaltis Goldhammer. Dwarven fighter in the Planescape.

Dekreon the Shadow. Elven fighter (archer) in the Planescape campaign.

Tika Maya. Tiefling fighter in the Planescape campaign.

Stephan Xavier VonBergenshire III. Fallen paladin in a home-brew. His stat rolls were so good, we dubbed him Stephan Von Broken-Stats.

Bael. Human fighter in another Planescape campaign. Molded after the Aiel of Jordan's Wheel of Time.

Lucius. Human fighter in the Planescape campaign.

Fitz. Human mage in the Planescape campaign. He picked a new name to add to his full name at every level. But we never called him anything other than Fitz. It gave him fits.

Thanks for reading through all this! It was fun reminiscing....

Short list of favorites or memoribles-

Fyre- human fighter Ravenloft
My first character ever. I was still working on him when ghouls changed my goal in life- "feed me my teammate's brain!"

Gyro- 1/2 Giant Gladiator in Darksun. Slow & Stupid I never had so much fun.

Hedone- human defiler/psion in Darksun. My first and only "evil" PC I've played. So angry that Hamanu tricked her into wearing a ring that gave him control over her that she cut off her hand, set it out to look like she was killed by a nasty creature then went to study the psionic power of regeneration.

Kari Morningdew- 1/2 elf ranger/cleric of Greyhawk whom started under 1st ed rules then went to 3rd. She was a survivor, I created a dark background for her that explained her motivations well. To this day I still smile thinking about when she snapped. Dressed in nothing but moth eaten night shirt- weilding a Trog's club, she told on three Trogs and an priest with very little backup- not only did she survive- but she did some MAJOR damage to the priest bare handed.

Mania- human Psy Warroir/Fighter for Darksun comic. Born from the union of an avangion and dragon. Pyreen watch him constantly to see which nature takes hold over him.

and my current character in a homebrew-
Vander Stormbringer fighter/Psy War He originated on Darksun, was sucked into a planar rift when the Deadlands was created and found himself in world that dosen't support psionics much and is magic heavy. I love the constant magic is bad, cross breds are bad, (LN going to LG "I'm on a mission for gawd" thing) and you worship Rkard, king of Dwarves- not Kord you silly preistly dwarf. Just had my first encounter with what he thought was a dragon. He insisted on leaving safty to check it out. oooooooh boy.

346 Human Gladiator from Kalamar, former slave his owner tattooed all slaves.

Jayde Black Human Psion/Metamind from Athas about a thousand years ago.

Odlits Burdfriend Half-Orc Wizard(Abjurer)/Master Chef(custom PrC)

Jack Black Human Psion/Psychic Warrior from Athas, more recently.

Snack, aka Victor Flintstone Dwarf Fighter/Cleric of Kord, I say again KORD!!!

Art Dodger halfling Rogue

Zed Dwarven Sorcerer with INT;3 and WIS;5

orc nuts

Melkar K'Treva-- Melkars name was lifted from a passage in Rolemaster 3e "Never trust a cobbler named Melkar the Destroyer"

He was a cobbler and reluctantly Sorcerer with a ridiculously complex back story.

Orin -- Ranger 1 Cleric 5 of Ukko, Domains Travel and Protection. Great fun to play, Lawful good but with a fondness for prostitutes

There were a few others but darn it I only played them in non 3e systems and half of them I cant rmember the name

adding a few of my favorite DEAD characters...

Thyndaros Wolfmane (Human Ranger 5 of Mielikki) killed by Jackques the Wolfwere while helping the Maria Ontash and family in "Feast Of Goblyns" . I was DM :(

Arenthor Wintersteel - (Human Paladin 6 of Tyr) Native of Harmonia, eaten by Goblyns in FEAST of Goblyns. It would appear that they feasted heartily. I was DM :(

Lareth "Trollfood" Truesilver - (Human Ranger 8 of Mielikki) brother to those Truesilvers of my first post. His nickname says it all. I was DM :(

Even DMs are not above the law. :)

Hernik, Dwarven Cleric: High spirited (and by that I mean drunk). Boisterous, rude, and blunt. Eventually was killed by his evil twin, and went to the big alehouse in the sky.

Nalom, Human Fighter/Blind Master: His parents were cultists, and the child they sired was cursed; Nalom has no eyes, or even eye sockets. Often surly, he was known to lash out at people who used phrases such as "Can't you see?" or "I see..."

S'nath, Human Wizard/Corroder: Specialized in acid spells. A horrible coward who was motivated by greed and, due in part to his spineless-ness, a wish to boost his own ego. Retired into excessive wealth after raiding a dragon's horde.

As you can see, not many characters under my belt -- I'm the DM more often.
