Next month, my group is planning a 3-day marathon session, a rare, rare treat for a bunch of guys who are lucky to game once a month. Given the time between sessions, I will normally start each game with a 5-question recap of the previous gathering. I know some people don't like the "quiz" aspect, but for us, it's a nice way to go over past events and award a little xp.
For our marathon session, I thought it would be cool to give out bonuses instead of XP - sort of a grab bag of goodies. For each of the 5 questions answered correctly, you can select one choice to use over the 3-day event. Some ideas were:
1. Automatically confirm a critical threat.
2. Automatically nullify a fumble.
3. Add a certain bonus to a save/attack roll/skill check etc.
4. Automatically stop bleeding when unconscious.
You can choose items more than once, and once you use it, it's gone. I don't want to make the choices too drastic, but I would like it to add a little reward on the player's behalf.
What other cool options can you suggest? Thanks!
