PCGen question

If I'm catching the hints from some other posts, is PCGen being forced to remove the WotC class books, etc. from the program? (i.e. only the 3 core books from Wizards allowed?)

The production release (3.0) already had it out, but yes even the future beta versions will be SRD only and what D20 publishers have allowed.

Man, Id love to be able to get my hands on the old beta stuff then, I miss not having the other books, SRD be damned!

I got version 3.0 just the other day with everything in it. Guess I got it just in time. Of course, the program is very slow for me, but it's probably because I have an old machine. Oh well. I have it all if I need it.

If you have an older version, you still have it because there is no erasing of the older data if you understand that.

True, it looks like 3.0 never had the non SRD stuff in it. I erased all my old versions like a big moron (assuming they would always be available, etc.) and now I feel the fool, lacking all the goodies in the expansion books

PCGen Is Not Going Away

Okay, there have been alot of rumors flying around multiple different boards as to the cuurent status and final fate of PCGen.

1) PCGen has NOT received a cease and desist order from WotC.

2) The LST files that have been removed will be back. PCGen now has opened dialogue with WotC so that any legal and liscense issues can be worked out. The LST files have been removed until all the issues can be resolved. The vast majority of them will be returning.

3) The word from PCGen creators is to sit tight and wait, be patient. They hope to have an official announcement within the next week or two as to what is going on with PCGen.

It boils down to chill, relax and be patient.

Will PCGen be d20 or OGL? If not, do you plan on getting non-WOTC copyright holder permission for things you are using but haven't asked permission for?
