PCgen: removing feats

I'm having a problem with PCgen where I can not remove selected feats. I double click the feat, his the left arrow button, but nothing happens.

I also can't remove skills either. I can take the skills down to zero ranks, but I can't remove them from the display after that. Any idea what the problem is?

Two questions: what version are you using?

secondly, have you tried posting this question to the PCGen Forum over at Yahoo Groups? They are usually more than willing to help.

Using version 5.6 (the newest one) I cannot duplicate the problems you are talking about.

Several questions. What version of PCGen are you using? Are the feats you are trying to remove color coded? Are these feats from an import from another Character Generator? Did you build the character from the ground up and select the feats and skills?

I'm using PCgen 5.1.0. The feats I'm trying to remove are black. The character was created with Jamis Buck's NPC Generator: http://www.aarg.net/~minam/npc2.cgi

I did find a way to delete these feats. I opened the pcg file with notepad and ripped them out! It's not very elegant, but it worked. I'd still like to be able to do this with PCgen, but maybe it's just not compatible with Jamis Buck. Any advice?

Btw, I could of swore I downloaded the latest version, 5.6, but when I click on About PCgen, it says 5.1.0......

That may be your problem. I just generated a file from Jamis' site and chose to d/l the PCGen version. The file shows a PCGen version of 5.5.1.

When feats are imported they sometimes are spelled differently. This prevents PCGen from deleting them. It has happened to me with feats like Weapon Focus (War Hammer) vs. Weapon Focus (Warhammer).

Ripping the feat off from the PCG works fine. Just add it again with PCGen.
