PDFs on PDAs

Does anyone use a PDA to view PDF documents? What kind of memory and other requirements do you need on a PDA to effectively and conveniently view a PDF? How well to RPG related pdf documents (with tables and so forth) show up on PDA? Does it only work with smaller-sized PDFs (as opposed to ESDs sized 50+ MB)?

I'd be interested in hearing about portable PDF viewing options, too. My laptop's an obvious choice, but something smaller would be better.

Viewing large PDFs on an older machine is already a pain, I doubt it would be a source of enjoyment to view them on even slower PDAs. :p

When I used my iPaq a lot, I carried the SRD .rtfs on it, and I read Magical Medieval Society on it. The tables were somewhat annoying, as was the two-column layout. Overall, though, it was tolerable for reading, but I wouldn't recommend it for referrence (especially visual scanning, like I often do with books). It was definitely nice for a plane ride.

I found a way to rotate the display 90 degrees, which helped immensely. I don't remember if that was built in or a tweak/hack, though.

FWIW, the SRD rtfs work great on a PDA. The look on my friend's face when I pulled out my PDA at lunch to settle a rules dispute was priceless.

Yeah, I agree that the SRD in non-PDF format on the PDA seems to work great. A friend of mine has the SRD in html format on his PDA, and he answers rules questions with amazing speed.

One application that would be very useful would be a PDA-friendly character sheet
