Pearls of Power for Sorcerers/Bards -- anything wrong with it?

Bertie

First Post
For my campaign, I was thinking of allowing Pearls of Power to work for sorcerers and bards -- you know, if they use it they get back a spell slot, as opposed to a prepared spell.

Sorcerers usually don't run out of spells anyway, and lord knows that bards aren't overpowered. But maybe I'm missing something. Any reason this would be unbalanced?

Thanks!

I cannot think of any reason why it would be overpowered to allow pearls of power to work for spontaneous casters in the way you describe.

pearls of power

I allow them for all spellcasters in my game. one thing to note though is that they allow you to recall a specific spell not a spell slot.

Overpowered? Not at all, actually I would say they are far more useful for wizards still (since they have less spells and cannot "change" their spells after they have memorised them). A pearl of power is kewl for a wizard, since it allows him to get another spell back that he really needs (ie. getting another Mage Armor if it looks like there's going to be another fight). A sorcerer doesn't have this problem. So, by all means, allow sorcerers to use them.
