Nifft

Penguin Herder
So I just double-posted, then edited the second post to reflect its duplicate nature, and OH MY STARS AND GARTERS now there's a revision history dangling off the post showing all changes!

Holy cow, this is awesome.

Thanks, -- N

EDIT: Added this line.

Here is my edit.

Ah.. very cool. that 'Last edited by' link goes to it. Never new that.

Edit: yea, only works for my own posts. Logged out and checked.

My feeling is that edits happen for a reason, and you probably don't want people to know what was posted before. For example, somebody posts something extremely grandma-hostile and the mods edit the post to remove it. Or you post something which you realized after you hit "submit" might be inflammatory, so you edit your post to make it seem less snarky.

It's one of those features I like in theory, but a message board is not wikipedia. We don't need to know the history of each post.

That's fair, however...

... there have been plenty of things for which I've wished I could turn on versioning (e.g. when developing house rules).

Perhaps make it an option that is disabled by default, but which you can turn on or off with an edit?

Thanks, -- N
