Perfect Two Weapon Fighting and Rapid Shot

Hey guys, I've been looking for an answer to this and I can't seem to find one. I'm playing a character right now in standard 3.5 that wields a pair of revolvers. I have the Perfect TWF feat, as well as Rapid Shot. Now PTWF states that you get as many attacks with your off hand as you do with your main hand weapon. Using Rapid Shot to fire the extra shot with my main hand, would this give me another shot with my off hand via PTWF? Thanks!

I would say no to that, because PTWF bases itself off of your base attack bonuses, not any other bonus attacks granted through feats. Might be wrong, but that's how i would rule it.

Seems pretty clear that P2WF is not intended to give 2 bonus attacks, simply because of non-specific synergy with Rapid shot. It's supposed to be 1 feat for +1 attack, just like other feats in the chain do.

It is worded ambiguously though.

I wouldn't allow a haste spell would give you 2 extra attacks. Or allow you to hit twice every time you took an attack of opportunity with your primary weapon. Or for instance, make an extra freebie attack with your OH if you had martial adept levels and used a strike attack with your main hand.

You should try conjuring the feat below and passing it by your DM... arguing that the relative difference between making 7 and 8 attacks in a round is a lesser benefit than that provided by any of the previous feats in the series.

SUPERIOR TWO-WEAPON FIGHTING
Prerequisites: Dex 21, Greater Two-Weapon Fighting, Improved Two-Weapon Fighting, Two-Weapon Fighting, base attack bonus +16.
Benefit: You get a fourth attack with your off-hand weapon, albeit at a -15 penalty. See the Two-Weapon Fighting special attack.
Special: A fighter may select Superior Two-Weapon Fighting as one of his fighter bonus feats.​

I've been in groups that have ruled it either way:

1) "Yes", on the grounds that Rapid Shot says "you can get one extra attack per round with a ranged weapon", so if you have two ranged weapons that's two attacks, and also;

2) "No", on the grounds that Rapid Shot says "you can get one extra attack per round with a ranged weapon", so you get one extra attack with the ranged weapons you're holding.

All that said, isn't PTWF an Epic feat? In which case, why would anyone care if you get a measly extra attack?
