Persistant Idea in a Magic Item

Actually, I don't hate the Skin of the Hero -- because it doesn't do what you say above.

It gives a +3 luck bonus to Armor Class, Attack Rolls, and Saving Throws. Only; not one bit to abilities or ability checks, nor to skills or skill checks.

And it costs 68,000gp -- not cheap. Breaking that down, it's a +3 Luck Bonus to 5 things; being similar powers, some are getting discounted rates. The price, therefor, sounds pretty close to me.

As for persistent spell; I'd love it if it were more clerly written; as aplayer, I often find myself not having any of the not-so-numerous spells that it benefits.

In fairness, persistent spell castable once per day isn't as good as a permenant enhancement.

If it gets dispelled, that's it gone for the whole day.

Something to bear in mind when pricing the item

The character with this mantle gains a +4 luck bonus to AC, attack rolls, saving throws, and all ability scores.

Does anyone else find that a bit odd? Can someone attempt to explain the reasoning of a luck bonus to an ability score? I understand being lucky and having a bonus to your ability checks, but a bonus to the actual score seems really wacky to me.

My apologies to everyone if I had mistaken what you were saying. I do agree that Persisting this particular spell is a little bit powerful I was just curious ho wmuch it was going to cost since what I wa figuring out just seemed wrong. This spell is listed in the Book of Oldritch Might by Monte Cook (which is a great series of books mind you). I did not think about someone being able to dispell any of the persistant abilites but that makes sense since it can be somwehat like Permancy.

Anyway, I sent my DM the link to this thread and he is agreeing with me that this would be an epic item and way too expensive for my character at the moment, being 18th level. So again I thank you all for your help on this.
