The persistent spell is quite costly, +6 spell slot. I was wondering why the cost is not variable based on the duration of the spell to be adjusted. Magic items are adjusted according to the spell in question, and if its duration is in rounds, minutes,or hours.
I was thinking of a feat that increases the duration by one step. Call it increased spell duration feat. So if a spell is in rounds/level it would go to minutes/level. If a spell was in minutes/level it would go to 10 minutes/level. Otherwise it would follow the rules of persistent spell. Personally I am thinking a feat like this would cost +3 or +4.
