D&D 5E Pet peeve (eladrin thread)

You say once in a while, which would be great, but it's every. single. time. especially on a mesasage board. If you say stop doing this, or that is annoying. Inevitably at least one person always does the thing you say is annoying. EVERY. TIME.

It'd be better if every thing turned into a 'me sausage' is bigger than 'u sausage'. I see what you did there.

Some light heart joking beats the bile and hatred of the old edition warring. So it's a step forward at least.

But yeah, as other have said, this isn't something that's a really heavy problem that generates serious discussion. If most people treat it seriously, it must be serious. If most people joke about it...

I don't know about eladrin vs eldarin because that may just be a case of the occasional grammer mistake so the grammer nazi comment applies.

In the case of Rouge though, my personal greatest most hated spelling for rogue, it is intentional. They will write it a hundred times and it will be Rouge each time.

As for drow, I see them as rhyming with now and NOT know. That is a pronunciation issue though and not a spelling one.

I sometimes make the Eberron misspelling of Ebberon and I hate it when I do.

People who confuse spelling and grammar errors... whilst making spelling errors!

evileeyore's Pet Peeve list gained a new name with two checks by it!

I am a capital-G Grammar Nazi, and I'm at peace with it.

As for drow, in D&D the correct pronunciation rhymes with now, as you indicated. This is established by the significant number of times the word has been recorded as such throughout D&D media over the years. I say this despite the admitted follies of my youth.

But only every 5 minutes.
Came to say, "Boom!" but "Bamf!" seems more appropriate.
